2002 Acura RL Reviews, Pricing & Specs

The 2002 RL looked the same on the outside, but had a few surprises under the hood. Its 3.5-liter V6 engine was tuned to provide 15 extra horses. Horsepower was up to 225, and torque was up to 231 lb-ft (from 224). OnStar was now standard on the RL.
The 2002 RL requires premium fuel, and gets 18 city/24 highway mileage. The only available transmission is a 4-speed automatic overdrive. Exterior changes include a painted lower trim and redesigned wheels.
Drivers of the 2002 RL dislike the in-trunk CD changer, preferring that it be in-dash. Although repairs are relatively rare, they tend to be expensive when they do occur. Most reviewers tend to like the solid handling, tight suspension, and quiet ride.

You can’t go wrong with a Acura RL, The RL isn’t missing anything, it is there Flagship vehicle . It’s comparable to the quality that is in Lexus and the less luxurious Honda’s and Toyota’s. Lexus LS models are comparable, to the Acura RL. On the lower end Honda (which Acura is made by) the Accords would be the flagship sedan, and the lower end Toyota (which Lexus is made by) the Avalon would be there Flagship sedan .Apr 06, 2021

I really like that in the mids of this cold weather I can stay extra warm with the heated seats capability of the car. On the flip side, in the case of warm/hot weather the car's AC system keeps the interior extra cool.Dec 31, 2012

Good car for the family or one person looking for sporty but also luxury. Sound system is awesome and the ride is very smooth. The 225HP V6 is quite powerful and off the line quick. No problem with reaching top-end needs either. Great value, lot of car for the money. Honda Motor Company endurance and known for long lasting automobiles.Jul 15, 2012

No sound when stereo is on
My radio/cd player will come on but there is no sound coming from the speakers. I have checked all fuses under the hood and the interior compartment and disconnected and reconnected the battery. There is still no sound. What are any possible other causes or any ideas???

Acura 2002 3.5 RL
Recently my car would not start -- the engine did not turn over nor did anything come on in the car -- the car was dead -- battery is new so that is not the issue. Does anyone else have this problem? Took the car to the dealer today and they could not figure it out.
