Car is fun and comfortable to drive around town, sporty look appears to younger crowd even though considered a late model car. Car was bought 9 months ago for my 17 year old son, and so far we've been lucky with repairs, but on high mileage cars its only a matter of time before foreign car part prices kick in.Sep 13, 2014

I like this car because I love how the body work is done . How I get the attention from others.I recently put the alarm, and the remote start. And the 9inch radio. AC and HEATER pluse engine is in perfect condition.Jul 14, 2014

the is300 was purchased in 2001. i purchased one of the first vehicles to come stateside. it was a great car and offered adequate room, excellent power, handling and brakes, the fuel economy was excellent. the one drawback was because of the compact size of the car, it did not have the room for lots of passengers or luggage... but that is not what this car was built for anyways.May 28, 2014

Most reliable car i have ever owned it drives like a sports and luxury comfortable car at the same time. it has a power to it for being v6 it gets up and goes i love the style of is300 it is a very special car.Jul 28, 2011

Performance- Smooth inline 6, suspension is flawless, E-shift is forgettable and strange compared to other Automanuals, tight gear ratio, could use another gear as an overdrive. Build- Fantastic, no structural failure since purchased, extremely reliable Appearance- Decent front end while the rear lights are debatable by some. Cost- Typical Lexus, expensive when you bring her in. Fun Factor- Great engine output can be a real enjoyment driving, though thirsty compared to other cars. Feb 17, 2011

Performance is great and handles like a rock. Going on over 130k miles, and it drives better than new!!! Car still gets people raving about it and still looks fresh. Gas milage and maintenance are costly items, but better than German vehicles....overall, it's definitely worth the money. The fun factor and performance definitely offsets the tight space. This car is NOT for someone with children. Aug 15, 2010

there is over 15,000 dollars put into the motor alone. when i get bored on the way it looks, i just buy a different kit to get me not to sell it!! the suspension is somewhat stock, and it handles like it is on rails. brake upgrade, but nothing spectacular, tv in dash with navJun 01, 2010

i love this car. i had some problem with corsion on the batery terminal but thats it. the car is 8yr old and the styling is timeless. the new ones are too big. acceleration off the line is quick 2nd and 3 are dissapointing but on the hwy it accelerates great.Nov 13, 2009

Handeling- amazing Acceleration- not so great untill u hit 6k rpm's Gas mileage- better then what hwy advertised Fun to drive if you dont care what ur speed is, it picks up to 100 fast!! brakes great--fast amazing best entry level sports carOct 11, 2009

Performance - 2JZ-GE engine with upgrades and output of 215+hp Custom exhaust is loud as hell. Great for canyon runs. Comfortable interior with DVD player and PS2. Able to beat an Audi A8 in a drag race if the R8 was only doing 50.Sep 25, 2009

best car i have owned so far. well obvilusly since its a toyota. cant go wrong with 2jz power and rwd. interior is perfect and i love it. it could have a little more power but im sure next summer there will be a little more boost i mean power unter the hood ;)Sep 16, 2008

I guess I have to write something here. I have owned this car for over 4 years now, done nothing to it in regards to repairs, and I am not necessarily an easy driver! Lots of fun do drive, and looks good doing it. The gas mileage and premium gas are it only downers...I'd buy another!Sep 04, 2008

I loved the inteior,good for longer trips. heated seat, ALL leather power windows, sunroof power everything. out of the car, it had good acceleration, good on gas Triptronic push button gears. very relible, nice midnight blue color, straight 3L straight 6. tail lights a unique but not asain rice rocket look. Dont like, one thing...i wish the seat were A/C, not just heated.Aug 07, 2008

Great little car, not the largest car in its class, but is quite comfortable. Decently equipped for the price. Sporty, Rear wheel drive. Good factory sound system. Gas mileage is mediocre at best (~22mpg) Decent power under the hood, more than enough to get you around (3.0L I6 215hp) But could be better, underpowered in its class, but makes up in nimble handling. Overall really great handling and performance sports sedan but very not fuel efficient, guess you gotta pay to have power and a nice ride. Very reliable as its an import but maintenance is expensive as well. Nice options but lacks rear fold down seats but a roof rack makes up for that when needed for equipment loads. Jul 16, 2008

The car picks up pretty quick. It is faster than that of many other cars on the road. The braking is also pretty good good. The turning circle isn't bad although I still wished it was better. My car is unique because I added tint to the windows and a blue AEM short ram intake under the hood. I hope to have more upgrades to come in the future!Jun 30, 2008

This is my cousin's car that I got to drive on occasions. It's a very nice handling car- sticks very hard in corner and I do push it till I feel it slip. Engine fells powerful, seats are nice. Stereo is wonderful. transmission is responsive, the seats are positioned high which gives me much better visibility than in my infiniti's only thing i dont quite enjoy is that steering effort is much heavier than the infinit and windows rolls up and down slow conpared to my infinitiMay 07, 2008

What this car needs is about 100 more horsepower, firmer suspension, a clutch type LSD, and more room to comfortably fit 9.5" wide wheels all around. Other than that, it's a perfect little car to get to work in. this car originated the "Altezza" taillight style, but it is a look that's starting to get old, even on the IS300. The 5-speed automatic "E-shift" feature is not that great, it is no more than selecting gears using a standard automatic shifter, except the selection is performed using buttons on the steering wheel.Feb 10, 2008

Can anyone help? My car wont start, it turns over but will not run.

I drove my lexus to work this morning and everything was fine, after work I tried to start my car and it would not start. This has never happened before, Ive checked fuses, oil, and belt. The oil was really low but that wouldnt keep the car from starting. I had a carmd check and it comes up yellow light but no code. I was thinking it was fuel injector or plugs, hoping it is something simple. Does anyone have any suggestions or has had this happen before to them

Lexus is300

So ive gone through everything, on my lexus, started with a misfire I took is straight home and changed sparkplugs, knowing it's a small process I was very precautionary but I didnt do my battery, now i reset ECU and checked all fuses I did get it to start after about 5 mins of idle I revved just a bit not over 3k rpm and it bogged down til it shutoff now it hasent started sinc I did pull the back seat and check my fule pump looks great, so I plugged it all in and kep the gas line off took a irrelevant tube to see if gas was being pumped and nothing came so I tried to reset it by turning key to ecc for a few moments then off and I've been fighting with it for about 2 months now, any tricks, please I really hate seeing my car down it's my pride and joy i never had any issues with it prior its immaculate i keep up on everything this just has me stumped
