The 2001 Honda Civic boasted a new design. With a wider base, Honda created a larger cab with more comfort, more cargo space, greater safety features, and more powerful engines.
The major drawback is that the old rear suspension did not support the new design as well as it should have. 2001 was also the year Honda discontinued the very practical hatchback design.

I like that you can customize this car as you please because there are so many parts and accessories for it but I am more of an American Muscle kinda guy. Don't get me wrong, this car can get me to around and not hurt my pockets but its just too small, too low and too light. I was driving on a very windy day and the wind kept pushing the car so it looked like i was swerving. It also gets stuck in snow a lot and tends to slip and slide on snowy roads. I like it enough to keep it and continue to work on it but I wouldn't buy another.Feb 16, 2015

The body of this car is much shorter than my last (a Pontiac) so it is easier to handle, especially getting in and out of narrow parking spots. I appreciate the great fuel economy and the champagne color paint since it does not show dust and dirt as much as other color options.Oct 18, 2013

This Honda Civic is comfortable and has a classic Honda look. The gas millage ranged between 32 and 38 miles city and highway miles and part if needed are easy to find and low in cost when compared to most other vehicles. Bought the car in 2001 as a loss leader. Survived Oregon, moved to Nevada, another move to Washington. Great fuel economy. Endured 7 accidents (crazy Oregon drivers).
Had regular maintenance. Only major maintenance was changing the exhaust manifold and just had an issue with the transmission. But it was after 190,000 hard miles.Dec 11, 2012

This isnt a car you would purchase if you are looking to get the "drivers" experience. It was made to be a reliable and comfortable car without all the bells and whistles.
I would recommend this for a new (smaller) family who needs transportation or for a new driver. It is easy to maintain and easy to handle. The car it self is top quality in terms of being a reliable source of transportation.
The gas mileage also helps during todays mega gas prices.
All in all, I have enjoyed the many years I have owned this vehicle. It got me through my first years of driving and has been a reliable partner throughout.Aug 07, 2011

I like that it is a small car and save a lot on gas, easy to keep clean since it has leather seats. On a sunny day open the sunroof and and enjoy the sun.
Not a good family car since it is a 2 door.

This car has a responsive engine though it's only equipped
with 1.7L cylinder displacement. The fabulous driving
impression of Civic generations still can be found in this
car. and for that reason I really love to drive it by myself.
It also only cost me a few to maintain. It is a fuel efficient
car with gas consumption for about 10-11 kilometers per

Performance was okay, good torque and handling, though for an automatic transmission, uphill climbs was a drag.
The other thing that sucks is the color....frikkin' lousy coffin color

This car is great for it was meant to be, and that is a car to get around
efficiently. The only real flaws I've experienced are that the fabric on the roof
sagged down in the hot Florida heat after a few years and needed to be
replaced. Also, the bearings needed to be replaced pre-maturely.
It is fairly fun to drive and very peppy off the line, however, it lacks any real
power. This causes it to feel like it is struggling to get up some steeper hills and
have poor rolling acceleration after about 45 MPH.
The brake pedal may be too touchy for some people. You have to be careful
with it in the rain. Press a little too hard and you will lose traction if you are
rolling on cheap tires.
With age, this car also develops a lot of road noise which may be caused by the
bushings going bad. Be prepared to turn up the radio and yell to passengers
when cruising on the highway!
It also has quite a bit of body roll for such a small car but it isn't all that bad.Mar 26, 2008

How to install wheel stud?
So I broke my wheel stud in half putting a broken lug but on this honda and currently driving with only 3 lugs now 2 questions first how dangerous is it to drive like this and second is there anyway to finesse the stud in I tried to grind a bit of the hub and the stud but still it won’t go through if anyone has any suggestions other than the replacement that’ll be great
