Love my little zx2 She takes off like a Rocket at lights and let me tell you i love leaving those big V8 mustangs in the dust , This little girl runs ! My zx2's name is foxy I bought her for $1,000 with 171,000 miles on her best thing shes a 1 owner car before me Apr 24, 2015

Fuel efficient, good handling, comfortable, decent cheap transportation if you take care of the maintenance. Not many people took care of them and as the are getting usually over 100k miles when you find them you have lots of little things to fix. Fuel pumps, clutches, relays, pcv, plugs, wires, fuel filter and general tune up stuff makes it a great running little engine. Do not overfill or underfil it with oil.Sep 16, 2013

its a pretty good car, but I'm not done with it yet. its performance is excellent, it accelerates and breaks excellently, it handles fairly well, and its fun to drive. its appearance is alright, the only problem i have with it is the back. the layout of the taillights and the roundness of the car looks a little weird but I'm planning on changing that. when the window is rolling down it creates a squeak that I'm looking into. it gets about 36 mpg average, and the car is very fun to drive.Aug 22, 2010

I love my car except that the person who had it before did some stupid stuff to it.
It's fun to work on, not too difficult, and it is super fun to drive and drift around
corners. even though it's an FF it is awesome for drifting on snow!May 08, 2010

I love my car because its mine!! Performance- everything works great. Build Quality- Works just fine for me!. Apearance- im not complaining about it i rele like it. Cost of ownership. 23-30 mpg. Fun factor- Hell yeah its fun!Apr 04, 2010

The scort has a very ridged chassis, that provides an amazing platform for upgrading. It shares parts with many other vehicles, there for part interchangeability is good. There are a good number of performance parts out there, but not so many that you cant tell quality from crap. It is sleek in appearance to a point that its deceptive and not everybody realizes that its an escort. The best part of all is that there cheap. If you total it you can get another for nothing. im rating my car as if it were new not the shape it is in now! its
a simple fun car to drive it handles well for being a subcompact
its a lil on the slow side for performance. but its comfortable

*The performance is, well it's an Escort. However, a low 7 second 0-60 is still decent in today's sub $20k coupe market. I really enjoy the 40mpg I average with it every time I drive; sometimes higher, rarely lower than 35mpg.
*With the car being the lowest priced MSRP car from Ford when new, and all the ZX2s were built in Mexico so it's not surprising that after 127k miles, it has a few rattles. A few items have needed replacing [tie rod ends, 1 ball joint, 1 outer wheel bearing] but nothing out of the ordinary of normal ZX2 issues.
*Everyone's got an opinion, and I still like the looks of the car nearly 8 years after I bought it.
*Once the warranty ran out [72m/75k mile], obviously the cost went up. However, the highest service cost so far has only been just over $500. I've hit a high of 45.98mpg with the car so far, though I have numerous occasions where the car gets over 40mpg.
*I enjoy driving the car everyday, in any weather. I would drive the car anywhere.Aug 27, 2008

We had a Teal Green colour ZX2.
On our honeymoon we went down the wrong street and for an hour of pot holes we found out the hard way to get to the Ferry in New Brunswick hitting up Devil's Road. We survived where other cars would have never made it.

P0171 Adaptive Fuel Trim Too Lean (Bank 1) Any ideas? From what I've read up on there's the possibility that the error could be the result of the mass air flow sensor being too dirty. I'm not sure of how to clean it. Most tutorials for cleaning air flow sensors indicate that there are screws that need to be undone, but there are no screws on this. It looks like the one in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=2jMMwFcwhiA It looks like it's just a plug. The guy there says it's possible to spray the cleaner in there but I don't want to just start spraying stuff inside with no guarantee that I'm actually getting at the sensor. What can I do? Is there any way to get the sensor out?

A loud pop noise came from my driver side tire as i was going down my driveway and every rotation of the tire the noise would occur again. I'd like to say its the ball joint but possibly wheel bearing?
