Fog lights stay on.
Fog lights stay on after lights are turned off. Fog lights will go off if turn indicator is placed in left turn position. Why???

The PT Cruiser was introduced in 2001 as the production embodiment of both a 1997 Plymouth concept and Chrysler's desire to capture its heritage in a unique new model. The 2001 PT Cruiser was named the North American Car of the Year, and it also appeared on Car and Driver's Ten Best List.
Two trim levels were offered in this initial year: Base and Limited. The Base model's standard features included air conditioning, power windows and mirrors, and power brakes and steering. The Limited added a power moonroof, keyless entry, fog lamps, power locks, heated mirrors, cruise control, leather seats and chrome wheels.
Both models were powered by a 2.4 liter DOHC inline 4-cylinder, which produced 150 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission came standard, and a 4-speed automatic was optional. Both route power to the car's front wheels. Fuel economy was estimated at 20 mpg city/25 highway with the manual and 20/26 with the automatic.

Need some help, ASAP. I bought a used PT Cruiser, it has close to 80,000 miles on it. I have had it six months. It has the small automatic engine. I noticed when I got it, that the car would do some jerking or lurching type feeling when I would hit around 50 mph. My husband said it was acting like it was not wanting to change gears at this speed. If I let off the gas, or gave it more gas, it would correct itself. The problem has gotten worse since the gas shortage. I have added a few rounds of fuel injector cleaner about every other fill up. This would seem to help. But in the last two fill ups, it is doing the jerking a lot. Mostly still at 45-50 mph, but have also started noticing that during acceleration, the car acts likes it just doesn't have the pep to get going. If I turn on the air or heat, it will do this at any speed or when idiling. Last night the engine light came on and stayed on. It has been cranked and driven three times since, and the light stays on. This am the light will start flashing when I try to acclerate going up a hill. I have parked the car, and want to have it looked at. I will need to drive ten miles into town to a Honda dealer to have it looked at. Should I run by Auto Advance and have a test done first, to know the codes? Or take it straight to dealer? Also, should I have it towed and not driven at this point? I am afraid of damaging my car. Thank you so much! Katherine
When I'm driving for about 15 minutes, the Oil Pressure light comes on, usually starts beeping at me when I'm idling around 800 RPM. As I accelerate, it goes off, as it should. As I continue to drive, the RPM needed to keep the oil light off (and therefore the beeps) slowly climbs. However, when I stop, and turn off the car for about 45 seconds, I can restart the car and drive the car without the light coming on again until I turn the car back off. It is inconsistent when it does turn on. I have driven the car for weeks without it ever turning on and there have also been days where it beeps at me every 5 seconds (as the light turns on and off) while I'm idling at a traffic light. The oil level in the engine block is a tad above the full line, so there's plenty of oil in the engine, but is was also doing this when the oil level was a little above the 'empty' line on the dipstick. It isn't a predictably repeatable occurrence as taking the same path at the same speeds and hitting the same bumps doesn't cause the light to come back on. What do you think the problem is? Sludge in the oil causing the oil pump to partially clog, bad oil pressure switch, or a bad pump? I can't take it in, since Murphy's law is supreme... The mechanics don't see the oil pressure light when it is in the shop and when the light does turn on, I'm either at the other end of town from the shop I trust, its after hours, or I have to get back to work... So they can't test to see if the oil pressure is too low.
Can I put a 2001 PT cruiser motor inside of a 2007 PT cruiser 2007 will it work will a 2001 work in a 2007
