With some of the same features as its more expensive relative the Corvette, the Camaro offers a good ride in a classic American car. The interior of the 2001 model sees many of the aspects that make the driver feel like a pilot.
The driver's seat is adjustable six ways, yet the passenger sits less comfortably with a large hump at his or her feet. Back seat riders will envy whoever is in the front passenger seat, as the leg room in the back seat remains negligible. Controls for the driver are clear and enhance the cockpit-like feel of the interior.
The engine provides a smooth ride for a Camaro. Tracing back to its classic American muscle car roots, the Camaro will not disappoint.

The 2001 Camaro Z28 combines good looks and great performance resulting in a fast and fun driving experience. Powered by the (Corvette) LS1 5.7-liter V-8 engine, acceleration is not a problem. The positives: The black leather interior looks great paired with the red exterior. (Leather) seats (front & back) and power windows. Fun, good-looking and affordable. The negatives: The back seats are functional, but too compact to be comfortable for anyone other than a child or small adult. Not a good vehicle for driving in rain, snow or ice.
April 29, 2013This car is an overall great first car. It has the starting power of a classic muscle car, but still lacking on the upper end only because it’s a v-6. It does make up for the lack of top end with a great acceleration rate. It handles like a charm and can stop on a dime. It does have a few squeaks but nothing really big. It is lacking a little bit in the interior but makes up for it with a very clean slick exterior style. For a sport/muscle car it does really well with gas mileage about 18-21 around town and 30-31 on long trips. With it being a domestic car the cost of parts is not extremely expensive. This car is definitely a fun car to drive. During the summer time it is really fun to have the T-Tops out and the windows rolled down. And with the acceleration it is really a fun car to drive.

Cheap bang for the buck! * Performance - acceleration = great, braking = pretty dang good, handling = pisspoor * Build Quality - Motor is great quality, interior is lacking * Appearance - both interior and exterior look so so... * Cost of Ownership - 20-mpg * Fun Factor - car and power is fun, no traction is not fun

October 24, 2009well come on, its a mustang killer, its fast, gets decent gas mileage, and is almost everything i want in a sports car. Top speed clocked 163mph. 0-60 5.25 seconds. Bought it with 77k miles on it, i have about 83k on it now, absolutely zero problems with anything. Other than changing my oil I've done relatively little maintenance to it save washing/waxing it and babying it.
July 11, 2008Overall very well maintained and enjoyable car. A blast to drive. Its a Camaro! Looks amazing. A head turner and very unique car. Sound system is amazing and the bass is incredible. The 22" rims catch your eye and the winter rims i have are very sporty too. The T-tops are prefect for the summer. Such and enjoyable car to drive
May 5, 2013Ive owned this car over three years this is my first Z28 I have owned and I just cant seem to get rid of it it gets 23mpg and runs low 13s in the quarter!! and I havent been beat by a Mustang yet it kills my friends 01 Cobra and I just laugh at ricers plus I drive the car every day and havent had to do anything to the car but typical maintinance
October 9, 2008The power is awesome, however if not experienced can get away from you very quickly. The look is very sleek, the hoodscoop says it all. Because it is a sports car requires high maintence, expensive gas, expensive oil etc. Not a family car, back seat is very tiny and very uncomfortable and i'm 5'0 its still to small for me. It handles a curve with ease. I have had no problems with it except water pump and that was at 101,000 milies for a v8 gas economy is pretty good, unless you put cheap in or dont fill past a half a tank.
October 22, 2011Great performance from the V6, plenty of power but still get 19/25 mpg. Car often brings compliments, great drive with the top down, has very good aerodynamics/slipstream with the top off, not loud, easy to talk on the phone etc at speed. Tight responsive steering, go find a curvey road and let her fly!
March 20, 2011It was a ton of fun to drive, loud exhaust, fast, loved the manual 6 spd...I will miss this car alot!!!! I will however get myself a new camaro, if they will make a convertible. I got decent gas mileage out of this car 24-26mpgs.
January 1, 2010Automatic with a 3600 stall, LT headers ORY, plugs wires, lid, flowmaster catback, flowtech cutout, stock 2.73's in the rear end. Hawk performance brake pads. Very fun car with a lot of room for more power. ET was 12.94 at 108 mph. 26 mpg on the freeway :)
