Please help: 2001 Z3 Starts But Shuts off Immediately
My 2001 Z3 will not stay running. It starts but dies immediately. We have replaced the fuel pump but it didn't fix the problem.

The 2001 BMW is "far more expensive than a Miata," according to user reviews, but at the same time the sports roadster is "fun, fun, fun" to drive. One reviewer went as far to call it the "pinnacle of the Z3 line" and noted that the car is "scary fast."
Complaints were few, although some called it "the ugliest BMW ever built" while still giving it high marks for its speed, handling and performance, with one reviewer going as far as saying "I'd cook it breakfast!"
The Z3 is a race car in disguise, so the cabin is tight - or "cramped," depending on who you ask - and the car may not offer as many luxury perks as some other BMW's.

I sold a 2000 Z3 twin to go overseas back in 2009. I just bought this one to replace it, it has under 9,000 miles and seems pretty much like new. A little wear on the top, but so far so good.Sep 13, 2023

The review says to put aside your relationship with that dealer or that specific car and its issues. Doing that, its easy to get this five stars. you have to buy the correct one. This car is not been as loved as it should have been for the low miles.Jan 06, 2021

if you are looking for somthing relayble you should get the z3 and during the summer time it is so nice to drive around with it you will be getting a lot of attention.May 03, 2014

- I see it very smooth, not noises at all, inside is very comfortable with a lot of space, and the seats are very wide ,for the driver the vision is panoramic. when I drive it is stable specially on the high way, and very economic in gasDec 16, 2013

I absolutely love my sweet little road-star, but things never can be fast enough... or you get used to it.
performance is not too bad, it's a 3 litre, it's not the M though. appearance is very nice and i love the 18" borbet rims. fun factor is enormous, never get that smile out of my face...Sep 10, 2008

Amazing engine performance: the sound and pulling power aftet 3000RPMs is amazing. Individual throttle bodies really make the car sing.
Build quality is terrible, and this goes to the engine, chassis and interior trim pieces.
Transmission feels horrible: rubbery, long, too notchy
Brakes are outstanding
Floaty suspension, very soft. Car pitches and dives too much on braking and you're piloting a plane on take off with the way the nose of the car lifts during hard acceleration.Aug 03, 2008

different,looks well,overall running costs okay.
build quality what you expect from a bmw.
put ya foot down and it goes,but so does fuel consumption.
hood easy to use,and very quick to drop down or put up.

One hell of a car only part that sucks is I have gotten 6 speeding tickets in it and I'm only 17 lol...BMW's of any model are all quick...my next BMW is more than likely going to be a twin turbo'd 335i...but I love this Z3 handles like you wouldn't believe and will dust any Mustang GT on the road...A+++Jun 29, 2008

Brake Light and Hazard Triangle on Dashboard lights up occasionally
The Brake light and Hazard Triangle on Dashboard light up in yellow - twice in 3 days but goes away after car is off for a short period of time. Am being told it is the shocks and suspension that needs to be replaced - does that sound accurate? They could not find anything else with electronic diagnosis.
