With PCS (stability control) it is great in the snow and rain. It is equipped with everything I could use. Heated leather power seats. AMFMCD. AC. I get 28 mpg on the highway. And I think it still looks stylish.Sep 18, 2014

In more than 200,000 miles, I replaced normal wear parts, brakes a couple times (I was rough on brakes), and the starter. Gas mileage was about 28 hwy, sometimes better if I drove nicely. Acceleration and handling were true to Old's attempt at a sport handling aspect to their sedan. ABS saved my life more than once, and while safety ratings were high, actual safety was excellent. In appearance... is there such a thing as a passive-aggressive car? It was understated, but still looked like it could really move... and it could. The engine had a smooth satisfying sound when accelerating, and it's V6 never felt like it was over-wound or straining to keep up. Road noise in the cabin was minimal, though it did increase slightly over the 6+ years I drove it. No dash rattle, no funny noises. The transmission was extremely precise. It always felt the same, it was reliable, and I knew what to expect from it at every acceleration. I sustained a speed of 110 mph at around 2400 rpm, and only stopped accelerating because I hit the governor.
I could not have asked for a finer vehicle. It stuck to the road like glue on curves and was incredibly comfortable to drive. Then after 200,000 miles, it met its end saving my life in a bad accident. A lesser car could not have maneuvered as well to avoid the center of the crash, nor would it have protected me so well from the impact it did sustain. RIP Intrigue. Appearance is great, love the spoiler. Gas maintenance is great for a v6 engine thats 10 years old. Now it squeaks when breaking and the gas pedal sometimes locks up. The ventilation system sucks. Good first car to have, but I'm ready for another.Jun 18, 2009

It's got plenty of pep from the line and at speed. With only cosmetic issues (over time), it is possibly the best car GM ever made up until Oldsmobile's demise. I like the styling inside and out, but there were definitely some corners cut on the materials (but only cosmetically). It has been a dream from a maint standpoint, and it averages 24.897 miles per gallon (that's overall for the full eight years I've had it). Currently it is averaging about 26.25 miles per gallon. Now that it has aged a bit, the steering isn't as tight as it used to be, and the third set of tires doesn't suction the road quite as well, but it is still a fabulous car to drive. Great ride, good handling, and reasonably quiet and only slightly over 21K when I bought it new, make this car a dream, and pretty soft on the wallet. I was very disappointed, angry and sad when GM cancelled the entire car line in 2003. Unfortunately, the newest of these cars is 5 years old now, so it will soon be time to look for a new (favorite, must have car).Jul 19, 2008

I have a 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue with a random no start problem.
I have a 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue with a random no start problem. It's a no crank no start issue and the security light is not blinking. Randomly it will not start and if i just wait a period of time (15min, 30min 1hr) I can put the key back in and it'll start. After starting the car would be good for 1.5 weeks then it would happen all over again. The battery was tested and is good, it's all grounded correctly, altenator is good, starter tested and good. There is a remote starter that was installed (not by the dealer) before I required the car around the time the car was purchased. I replaced the ignition switch and that solved the problem for ~1.5 month, but then it started acting up again. So I unbolted the ignition switch and having it lose which worked again for 2-3days then it didn't start, so I removed the new ignition switch and got it refunded for a new one (Autozone). When I replaced the ignition switch it failed to work, so I put in the original ignition switch and valah it worked (Weird…). However, this only worked for again 2-3 days then to fix it this time I only removed and re- inserted the lock cylinder (which I did twice) and now it has been working for about a week now with no issues…for now. SO, what is failing/going on? Sorry for the novel, but felt the more info the better. Finally, nothing was done to the care before this issue presented it just…."happened".
