The F-350 Super Duty 7.3 diesel is amazing. The truck had low miles for the year and was in great condition. I would have liked power door locks and windows, but it wasnt a deal breaker for me. Very happy with my purchase and I would put this truck against any of its major competitors. Great pulling power and very dependable truck that will hold its value. Smart buy!Jun 18, 2021

With a Banks Stinger Plus kit, pulling 24,000 lbs, set the cruse at 65 and relax. Without the Banks kit, race down hill and struggle uphill. With a 410 gear, it will pull anything but you may only get 5-8 MPGOct 13, 2014

it has a TS 6 position chip, before the chip it didnt have the power i was looking for, i haul gooseneck trailers almost everyday at my job, from skid steers to stock trailers and seed trailers, combine headers and service trailers this truck has to be reliable under the hardest seasons and it is a work horse.Jul 27, 2014

Awesome truck but a little much for just me now. My folks were living with me at one time and this truck made sense but now I am ready for something smaller. It awesome for traveling and camping and such. Everything fits in it! Period. I usually even carry other people's things when we go on family trips. The bed cover is great and locks. If it starts raining I don't have to pull over. To put things inside. I have really enjoyed it. And I don't have enough time to write about the power this thing has or how reliable it is but it's a real gem!Jun 13, 2013

I really liked the truck. It was awesome to drive with tons of diesel power!great visibilty riding up high. I wish the fuel hadnt gotten so expensive! It was very fun to drive, and I will say I would have felt sorry for anyone getting into an accident with me. The massive leafspring suspension front and rear was like a giant tonka truck. Monsterous appetite for fuel but dead reliable and can haul 6 adults in relative comfort. 8" box is more than adequete for work or play. Bare bones versions are extremely afordable and make a good alternative to a pedestrian mini-van when it comes to hauling the family around.
Handles better than you would expect a 10000 lb vehicle to handle and the 6.0 diesel version is certanly more than enough to handle any towing chores. While the 7.3 (99 to 03) versions promise greater reliability, the earth moving torque and power from the 6.0 is unequalled by even the optional 6.8l v-10 gasoline version. The 5.4l gas engine is adequete for most hauling tasks but falls short on power when it comes to towing.Brakes are barely adequete on all models.
Build quality is very good for an American pickup truck and actually seems to have gotten a little worse with each new model year.
Styling has been tweaked over the years to reflect new styling trends and brand unity but the overall shape remains relatively the same since the Superduty was released in 1999. Interior of base models is spartan but higher end models boast luxury and amenities that rival some luxury sedans. Heated, power leather seats, power rear slider, sunroof, heated mirrors almost any option you can think of is available on Ford Superduty.
Harley Davidson and King Ranch models released 2003 boasted unique interiors and styling cues to an already abundant trim level line up.
Millions of them on the road assure ecellent aftermarket replacement parts and accessorries for years to come.
Make no mistake, this is not a car with a truck body on it. It does everything that you expect a truck to do including standing up to the most extreme uses.

Awesome truck and great ride for a 1ton but needs more power. Working on the power issue so far have an exhaust and intake. Soon to have a better HPOP, turbo, injectors. Also need to have a good check on the vitals so a good set of gauges soon to come. Hopefully soon to convert to the 05-07 front end and an 08 up tailgate.Dec 01, 2009

it was BIG, white and fast. it was so fun to blow the doors off imports. it handled a tad better than my expedition, had better take off, but didn't have the top end pull. it got better gas milage than my expedition, but not quite as good as the f-150. Oct 16, 2009

I love this truck! its a auto so theres no shifting. however its an early 1999 so it has some previous model parts that was on the 1997 7.3 which was disconued in late 1999. but mine is straight piped with a napa 6637 intake air filter. so the turbo screams and has power when i need it and still gets 15+- mpgOct 02, 2009

I have 7.3 litre turbo diesel with a six speed transmission, it has wheeles/ tires(33x12.50) it was tinted windows, exhaust, bigger spark plugs, and its a bit fine tuned, it also just got a make over and it basically bland new with a new 550 horse SBC, it gets 21 on the highway when my foot isnt heavy, and i wouldnt trade her for the worldMar 09, 2009

Will suck the balls off a gas pump. It's a V-10 so plenty of power and gas is cheaper then Diesel fuel.
I bought the thing from a cleaning company that used it as a work truck. So there are planty of dings and scratches to go around. Dec 10, 2008

Driving the truck is quite nice in my opinion. You sit up high and have excellent visibility. The truck doesn't handle very well at all, as a result slow wide turns are necessary. Accelerating on a freeway ramp is a rush. The turbo spulls up and pulls you back in the seat as the speedometer climbs rapidly. Freeway cruising is smooth, but the rugged tires howl as you go down the road. Braking, like the handling, isn't quite up to par. The interior is nice and spacious as long as you're riding up front. The back seat is cramped and becomes uncomfortable if the ride is much longer than 20 minutes. The captains chairs up front are comfortable and supportive. Overall I love this truck a lot. It works well for what I do, but if you're needing a vehicle for pulling and you need to fit you're family in the truck, I would recommend that you opt for the four-door version or the diesel powered excursion.Feb 21, 2008

May have ruined my engine
I blew a plug in my truck guy drilled a hole for a heater coil I think he might have hit my piston after we blew it out put in another plug in a heater coil drove 200 yd start smoking real bad since then hard to start rough idle smells like gas smoke real bad and I I did stuff it came back with a bunch of error codes like the map sensor the O2 sensor all these other codes so I go around and I fix them I don't smoke as bad until I tow something it'll smoke so is it the Piston is it the ring or is it just bad luck my O2 sensor is bad I've tried I've changed a lot of stuff but it keeps coming back to the piston
