i like this car a lot. it is east to handle, and can get you where you need to go. it can tow a boat or trailer, and can get you through the snow. it is also really reliable for its age. Jul 16, 2014

Powerful motor. 4x4 had issues from day 1. I didnt like the automatic
climate
contol. Never really got the temp right and i just swapped from hot to
cold alot.
Too many sensor for stupid stuff like lights and crap. Just annoyed me
more than
anything. Defrosting mirrors was pretty cool tho. Overall still not bad, I
just like simpler things. NEVER attempt the ball joints...Jun 10, 2012

All on this SUV was good, because is was legal and it was fun to drive, the price was about $4000, interior and exterior were in good shape, no squeaks or rattles or flats. gas mileage about 25 mpg ald all good.Sep 18, 2010

Awesome SUV this is my second blazer, first one was a 97' LT 4X4, never had any problems with either of them. would buy another. Goes through the rough Iowa winters with ease, bad this is it likes to eat brakes.Aug 25, 2010

Alright this car is Beast in the snow and bad terrain. The bad part is that the 4wd sticks, the car goes through Front end parts, and is not gas efficient. otherwise it looks nice and it performs well. I would tell people to get this car if they want a cruiser. Some of the options in aftermarket parts can make this a really fine ride.Apr 07, 2010

not to bad of a little truck. i use it for almost everything. drive it everyday in the winter. and sometimes in the summer when i go campin or out hiking or feel like offroading. dont have any problems pullin the pontoon as u can see. its just a v6 but plenty of power.Mar 03, 2010

This car has great acceleration and also perfect
handling at high speeds. Very smooth ride. no repairs
needed. dark tinted windows, interior is black. 2,500
watt sound
system. cold air intake and supercharged. $7,000

Not many people like this vehicle, but I love it. The clutch is a piece of cake. I guess one bad thing is the gas mileage, but its paid off and fun to drive! Plus I can take it off-road.Jul 03, 2009

I got this car from my dad it now has 160000 miles on it and still runs like a beast.I love it in general, have never had any problems. the only thing that I indeed hate it the rattly plastic interior. other than that it is an enjoyable ride and i love my very nice custom sound system in the blazer.Aug 14, 2008

mine had alot of custom worlk done like a cowl hood, cold air, custom paint. I got anywere from 25 to 30 mpgs highway and it only cost $40 to fill the tank at todays gas prices. the 4.3 was a very reliable engine that even ran upside down ( the reason I had to part with the car) very stable and controlable for an suv. Never had a car get over 200,000 miles on it before and still run like it's almost brand new. Maybe the constant oil changes make the difference, but I have been hard on this car at times and it just keeps going and going. Love it, just wish it got better gas mileage.Jun 19, 2008

it does real good off road till you get into a good bind then the limited slip front and rear can get you into trouble real fast, it is real good on the road it drives real smooth considerin i have a lift and mud tires so overall i think this is a good vehical for your hunters and outdoors people and maybe the soccer mom who needs to drive in snow, but not your hardcore offroader, unless you build the balls out of itJan 12, 2008

I bought it to replace my 96 Ford Explorer LTD. I really loved that vehicle with all of the options. But I have to say that this Blazer is only missing a few of the options that the Explorer LTD. has. I like the classy look the Blazer has. It is wonderful on gas so much better. I haven't owned a chevrolet before but I guarantee it won't be the last. I really love it. I haven't tried towing anything yet, but I'm sure I won't be disappointed. There is my 19 yr. old daughter, myself and our 2 German Shepherds who ride in it and there is still quite a bit of room left. We all love it. It is so nice having the privacy glass in the back and sides to keep the dogs so much cooler than the 96 Ford Explorer Ltd. The one thing I was totally shocked by was the power of the A/C, I was really concerning about only having the A/C in the front, because I have a $25,000 Nov 20, 2006

1998 chevy blazer wont start
had a 98 blazer that ran perfect until it was stolen. they ripped the radio out and wrecked the dash. ran good after i got it back for two weeks then wouldn't start after i locked it. boyfriend got it to start and it ran for 2 days. hadnt ran since. weve replaced the bcm, the ignition lock cylinder, spark plugs, fuses, wiring harness. the lights all turn on when on and the passlock security light remains lit. weve gotten different keys and tried a bypass as well. it turns on and fuel pump goes on but no start.

on a 1998 Chevy Blazer the switch is on 2 x 2 how do I know when to switch to 4 x 4?
I recently was driving and it had been snowing and noticed my car was not handling very well.....some fish tailing, etc... wanted to know if it would be okay to push the button that said 4 x 4 while I was moving at a slow pace or do I need to come to a complete stop first
