1996 Chevrolet Tahoe 4x4 sport new engine
Looking for a reputable mechanic to replace the engine in my 96 Tahoe sport. Has around 318k miles on it and still runs great with minimal oil consumption.

i loved it just wanted another pickup i did a lot to this truck and it was all
around a good truck i dont miss it but it was fun to have and it never let me

Has about 260,000 miles but runs like a two year old car. Had to replace the back end a few thousand miles ago, but thats about it. Everything is awesome except for the fuel economy and the mushy brakes. Also suprisingly quickNov 03, 2012

My favorite part of the Tahoe was the Exhaust, The Power was exceptional. It did amazing in the snow and ice. The most fun car I've owned yet. If i could do it again i never would have sold it. Nov 03, 2011

Yes it has needed repairs before but it works like an angel. My dad and I
like to drive this to our deer lease. It gets about 21 miles to the gallon I

i have a 1996 chevy tahoe 2 door 4 wheel drive that came with a 350 engine it has recently been replaced with a 2001 fuel injected 454. We changed motor,tranny and transfer case. As you can guess the gas mileage isnt that great about 15 miles per gallon,but when you here the 40 series flowmasters(true duals with headers)screaming and your head bounces off the headrest gas mileage is the last thing on your mind. The exteroir is hunter green with a camo stripe at the bottom. The interior is baige. When u set behind the wheel of this beast you know u will have a blast, but with my lead foot i am always tearing out axles and u joints.I havent had to do anything to the drivetrain,but regular maint. This truck will hang with most cars off the line. if you are looking for a fun and exciting vehicle,you might think of building a machine like this.Right now this is an everyday driver,so not 2 many upgrades as of now but will be soon.This is a prime example of a sleeping giant,when u wake it,you better be ready.Jun 25, 2010

Loved everything about this truck, but no controls in the back. no 3rd seat. Leather interior. Handled great. Miss it, shouldn't have traded it in.

Looks tough, because it is. I mean come on, it is a chevy.
You can go just about anywhere and pull just about
anything. Plus it sounds good with the Flowmaster Tru Duals

I have had the truck for a few months and
i love it. It has a lot of power and
sounds good with a flowmaster. The truck
can be expensive to fix i just replaced
the ball joints pitman arm and rear

Good first vehicle, smallish, not bad gas mileage and fun to drive. Not too expensive, some minor complications, nothing majoy. the a/c and U-joint. I didn't have to buy it though, kind of got it from my parents.. not keeping it though so i guess i'm not too attached. Jan 12, 2009

I like the truck, but I am ready for a change up. Its lost its newness. The gas mileage is horrible but it comes with the vehicle, i knew that when I bought it, but the truck is very solid and reliable. With it being older it can come up with a shopping list when it goes in the shop.Sep 26, 2008

Great car to do a home improvement project, tow, 4X4, plenty of power. Looks good. Sporty rare with Z71 package. Breaks suck. You have to be carefull driving. Its not a car. Its a heavy ass truck.Feb 25, 2008

This truck is great! We have some 36 inch SUPER SWAMPERS for it (there are not pictured here), plus it has a 6 inch lift. Obiously great offroad and on for that matter. I got hit in my right side in this truck by a Honda Civic a few years back, the girl said she didn't see me in front of her (what is she blind?), so my rear right tire drove over her front hood after she hit my side with her front! My then 2 1/2 year old son LOVED it! he thought we were a monster truck! so I concider it very safe. it's great being up off the ground like that away from all the crazies like that girl!Jan 07, 2008

Ok, I have 58lbs of fuel pressure at the test port. No spark at plug. No fire out of new coil. New module. New distributor. Fuses are good. No security problem. No codes or history in OBD. Going uphill is was cutting out and then next day stopped running while driving. Turns over but will not start. replaced fuel pump relay, no go.Can hear fuel pump run when key turned on. What else could cause this problem?
