Got this car from an individual that had given up on repairing it, she gave it away to get it out of her yard. I took it home and checked it out intending to scrap it. I replaced the coils and the car started and runs like a dream.Sep 28, 2011

he most reliable Car I have ever had the pleasure of owning. - THIS is the car, the colour, the rims, an exact match to the one I had owned... for 6 years!! I was the second owner, and picked it up at 90kms on the OD. The 3.8 engine, when well maintained is almost bull...et-proof. The transmission WAS bullet-proof. This car only ever saw mid to high grade fuel. Oil change every 3 months and regular tire rotations. The ride was great, the concert sound stock stereo was awesome. I was looking forward to owning the next generation of Olds 88's when the news came down... they killed the Olds line... >.< and to be honest, I think my car hard that, because shortly there after the engine quitJul 24, 2010

This car has been in my family since two years after I was born. We needed a car with space for a growing family. My mom, who had recently given up her turbocharged Sabb, decided she wanted something with high performance. The engine is phenominal, the torque, even after 15 years, still set me deep into my seat. The only major repair I remember on this car was to replace the air compressor. The car was shaking so badly on the way to the shop that my mom orderd a taxi & tow truck to get us there. There were minor things like springs baeaking and a minor fender bender, but nothing to make us replace it. Cars like this need to be let out to run every once in a while. If you drive at low speeds all the time, this is not the car for you. Its gas milage improved after a 300+ mile road trip to the Outer Banks going 80 mph down the highway. 35 mpg for that trip. This car is like driving a boat on asphalt. Its big, floaty, but with extremely responsive steering. This car is much more fun to drive than a normal 4 door sedan by miles. well i like that the car is roomy, drives well, gets pretty good gas mileage and haven'y had to replace alot of things on it. i work on my own cars and parts are fairly east to find for this modelOct 09, 2009

I put well over $6000 into this car over a two year period of time. Ultimately, the transmission went out forty miles after having put a new engine in it. That's when I cut my losses and got rid of it, after having it two years, driving it 6K miles, and puting $6K in to it.Jan 04, 2008

Need help!!!
I have a 1995 oldsmobile 88 royale. so here is what is happening. on Easter I drove it at least 30 miles on the interstate and it did fine. We had one more stop to make and we were there around 20 or so minutes and when we went out to move the car it wouldn't start. Finally we got it started but with the gas pedal all of the way down it still wanted to die. then now it will start right up but idle for around 2 seconds then sputter out and die. Also if you give it gas after you start, it will go for around 4 seconds and it backfires into the breather box. to add to it we took the parking light fuse out and the car dings as if I left my keys in the ignition. the same day it stopped running when we got to our last stop the window was having a hard time rolling up and we have power windows. I am not a mechanic at all but with just one of us working it is very tight right now so I'm going to list all of the things we have replaced or checked and maybe someone can help us. What we have replaced: -Fuel pump -Fuel filter -pulled the exhaust to see if it was the catalytic converter -EGR valve -Mass air flow -Throttle position sensor -Idle control sensor -All coil packs -throttle body gasket -new plugs and wires It would really be wonderful if I could get some advice. the motor in it have a 3200 series 2

1995 OLDSMOBILE ROYALE 88 idles fine, but runs rough.
I've changed the air filter, airflow sensor, fuel sensor valve. Next will be the 02 sensors, ignition control module, and catalytic converter. "HELP!
