Seems cozy ( or cramped ) in drivers seat . Electric controls are cheap looking & unimpressive . Good handling & gas mileage . Should NOT BE a sedan , should be a coup . Although I like this little car I'm sure I'll be replacing it w/ in 2 years .Apr 10, 2014

The car is great on gas, 38.7 is the best i got. Its quick for a 2.0 liter. 16.9's in the 1/4 mile, tons of fun to drive and a great all around car to own. Only ever let me sit once and that was when i blew the transmission. Havent had a problem since. Take it off road, tow other cars, and take it to the drag stip. Very versitile.Oct 18, 2009

It's a ford. The "high performance" engine it states has can't keep up. The body's the only thing that helps it.There's a reason they discontinued this model. I've looked at all the possible recalls on the internet and the list is scary. I've met other with the same car that dislike it as much as I do. In short, don't buy one.Aug 16, 2008

i bought this car on my credit card and am still paying it off got to tell you thats a super dumb move for anyone to do i did love this car though the only reason i had to loose it was the clutch went and a minimum estimate was 1200 bucks ouch so i donated it and uncle sam gave me squat for it.Jul 18, 2008

1995 Mercury Mystique v6 when cold will start and run for about 3 seconds then shut of. Can not be restarted. No Spark. Gasoline vapors at the tailpipe. ODB1 code reader shows 111 (no problems)

My brake lights stay on
With the brake switch disconnected and flasher units removed all three brake lights stay on. I can get the normal lights to go off if I disconnect the directional switch

Trunk access through back seat
I have a 1995 Mercury Mystique GS w/a locked trunk . No key & trunk release cable , by drivers seat , is non responsive . I got the vertical back seats off but can't get the horizontal back seats out . The brackets & screws are recessed under the horizontal back seat ( 2 screw each on 3 brackets , got the 3 visible & accessible screw/bolts off ) . I can't even get my socket bit on the recessed screws/bolts . What's the trick here ? What am I missing ? How do I get these damn t50 bolts off ?
