Given to me by my dad for college, it was great. Still today it is the best handling
car I've driven regularly. The V6 DOHC was perfect for the car, great for highway
driving. Not much space, however the front seats were designed for a sports car.

Great car for the runs to the store and small trips. Dependable vehicle with minor repair being the only problems. Cramped space when working in the engine compartment. Easy to customize with your own styling. College kid friendly without a doubt!Aug 29, 2011

For a 1995 v6, the car was great. split forged pistons, power everything. Excellent handling and a punchy 2.5 liter dohc engine with a 6750 rpm redline. Not much for a back seat on the inaugural year, they corrected it by the 96 model year.Mar 16, 2011

If it wasn't for the good gas mileage that this car gets i would probably try to convince my parents to buy something else because the car isn't very powerful or easy to look at and claim it as my car, but it does do a fine job of getting me from point a to point b efficiently Aug 13, 2010

I think the performance is pretty good for how old it is, it is up to date on all of its oil changes it has fairly new tires and is good on gas. it only costs $32 dollars to fill up the tank. So I give it a 3 star for an overall rating.Jun 03, 2010

The 4 cyl engine was a neat little engine with lots of room for performance boost. But in this car it was underpowered. Build quality was off. Its appearance was lacking but with a body kit like the SVT it looked great. Cost of ownership was low. Maintnance was easy and cheap parts galore. Gas was decent. 3-400 miles on 1 tank. This was another attempt at a "world car" by Ford and was the most successful up to that point, largely because they didn't mess with the terrific handling the European engineers gave it. Arguably Ford's best overall offering at the time, but had a cramped back seat which hurt sales. Crap automatic tranny didn't help either, sapping performance and economy. Get a manual if you can. Still, handling and overall feel rival BMW, believe it or not. Subsequent generations not sold here carried on the Ford DNA, best sampled in the first-generation Focus.Jul 04, 2009

The performance was great, it handled well in the snow regardless of not having traction control. The build quality was good when I had the car, but it tended to overheat which eventually led to the head gasket blowing and my having to junk the car. The exterior appearance was okay; i bought the car used so it a scratches but the interior was perfect. the ride was so comfortable too. It was relatively fun to drive.Dec 22, 2008

Power was awesome. The 5 speed gearbox wasn't bad, not great, but not bad. Braking was fine. Handling was excellent. Just enough handling to be able to keep the power in check. Build quality wasnt the best. I had weather stripping falling off and the dash parts falling off sometimes, but nothing big. The appearance was ok, even though I drove it 12 years after it came out. This car was not very reliable when it came down to the last few years. We had to get it fixed a lot, and soon we just junked it cuz I ran it into the ground. Very fun to drive because of the power. I peeled out everywhere I went because the manual was so fun.Nov 19, 2008

Initially they were way over priced....but have become quite a used car bargain! German design adds some quirkiness to the interior but the front seats are very supportive and comfortable. The V-6 makes it a fun car to drive but hard to work on since its packed so tight under the hood. The early SE and later SVT models are the ones to get.May 30, 2008

Great Car for the original MSRP. Def surpassed expectations from its small 2.5L 24Valve V6 Engine. Tons of attention to detail in to the interior of the car. Unfortunatly it was still inteded as your standard family commuter and lacked durability after 100k miles of pulling the car's peak performance.Apr 22, 2008

Sure, they criticize Ford for making cars that break easy, but mine ran strong well into
2007, and is likely running well for whomever owns it now.
There's nothing 'spectacular' that stands out about this car. Sure, it ain't the prettiest thing
on the road, and it doesn't pack a lot of muscle. But these cars are pretty decent, and they
sure last if you take good care of them.
This is hands down the best cost: performance car I have ever owned (I purchased mine
for ~1300$ in 2005)

Why isn't my car recieving fuel? Is that even my problem?
I pulled off the highway and gave my car gas it putted along with no power and died. I changed the Mass Air Flow sensor and once I shift it into reverse my vehicle died. I changed the fuel filter, the pump also worked, now it just cranks, and when starting fluid is used it turns over but dies immeadiately. Please help
