Mine says Z07 on the back bumper by the Lt-1. Convertable. What does it mean? Thanks Scott

The 1995 Chevrolet Corvette featured many changes, but is best remembered as the last year of the ZR-1. The ZR-1 was much-loved by its drivers and collectors, but the powerful car seemed to have priced itself out of the market; the only true difference between the ZR-1 and LT-1 was a more powerful engine. By this time, the LT-1s had grown so powerful and efficient that they were fast on the heels of the ZR-1s.
The base engine for 1995 was a 5.7-liter, 350-ci LT-1 V8, still rated at 300 horsepower, while the ZR-1 had an LT-5 engine rated at 405 horsepower. Changes for 1995 included strong brakes with larger front rotors and improved gas-charged shock absorbers.
The 1995 Corvette was selected to be the pace car for the Indy 500.

This car has been equipped with the Greenwood Racing aero body kit that was installed post factory production by Greenwood and is in excellent condition. The car also has the LT1 package that was available from 1992 to 1997 in limited production. This car is a fine example of rare performance packages available above the base models commonly available for sale today. May 25, 2024

Three issues I have with this generation Corvette is, the frame rails are very high and in the way getting in and out of the car. The electronic ignition system is located right below the water pump. The battery is not easy to access because they located it below the horn assembly, so its a job just to replace the battery.Sep 20, 2022

C4 Corvettes are probably the best value for your Vette money. I believe the later models ( 1990-1995 ) have a little more horsepower than the earlier models, and you can find low mileage examples very reasonably priced. Feb 17, 2021

It's a Corvette and it's mine.
My first Corvette and now I wonder what took me so long.
When I first saw it, my breathing stopped. When I got behind the wheel, my eyes glazed over.
When I first hit the street, I just wanted to punch it. But discretion got the better of me.

This is the first Corvette that I have owned. Very happy with car and performance. Extremely fun to drive and as a friend told me when purchased, "Welcome to COOL". Drove car only on fair days, not on snow. Was also pleasently surprized at the fuel milage.Dec 31, 2014

Handles well on curves, lots of power, great gas mileage for the power it has...... no room for long legs, kids, and a pain to get in out of. Smooth and quite riding car for cruisebut not for a long ride if you are big person such as I. Love the way this style and year are made. Got enff power to blow some off the road. I have always wanted a corvette. I chose a 1995 because 1) I love the look of the C4, 2) The C4 corvette made improvements throughout its run from 1984-1996 with the best versions being the 1995 and 1996 because they got the upgraded breaks and many other parts found on the discontinued $70,000 ZR-1. This car handles like it is on rails. I took it out this spring (April 2013) and even though it is 18 years old, people comment on the car all the time. They even ask: Is it new? The C4 has amazing lines and looks great from any angle. The 350 engine with 300 hp will pin you back in your seat. If you can find a low mileage, 1995-1996 corvette, buy it. I love the performance of the vehicle for the price. Lots of fun to drive and love the color, Torch Red. : ) I wish it was a manual transmission, but get plenty of performance out of the automatic. I like the lines of the C4 and the total immersion you feel when you climb inside. It's a car that you wear and it transmits the driving experience through every tactile receptor. As Bill Mitchell said, a car can be like a little vacation you take each time you drive it. There is no other car quite like it, though there are probably faster or better cars nothing comes close for the money. pretty fast car, still holds its own/opens up a can agains most modern stock sports cars. Its a really fun car to drive handles great at high speeds and great stopping ability. I love everything about my car! Although the one thing I would have to say I dont like is the color. Its a great color but just not my favorite. The interior is pretty great, tan leather interior but I wouldnt mind black leather interior. It has needed some repairs such as the driver's side door panel and the middle console, but besides that its in great shape! Oh and I love how fast it goes! It might not go 200+ like the newer Corvettes go but it goes about 158 and thats fast enough for me! I would have to say that the breaking is top notch. I was going 120 on the highway once and didnt realize a cop was right ahead of me. I slammed on the brakes when he wasnt too far ahead of me and slowed back down to 60 right as I was next to him. My car is super fun to drive! I wouldnt trade it for anything, except maybe a newer version. Jul 07, 2009

This car was my first two seater sports car. I just had to own a Corvette. The removable roof was amazing. Great Stereo,6-spd, leather, oh I had a lot of fun in this car. The stories it could tell. It handled great, and had great acceleration. Definitely a head turner.Oct 19, 2008

It is a 1995 with the LT1 that came stock with 300 horse and 335 ft/lbs of torque. With the
current modifications(cam, pushrods, valve springs, roller rockers, headers, full exhaust,
tune) it should make about 390 horse and 415 ft/lbs fo torque. It's black w/ a short throw 6

What does this one toggle switch do?
There is a small toggle switch on my 95 convertible. It it to the right of the steering column, is shines chrome, sits low on the dashboard all alone, nothing else around it. What is this switch for? What does it control? No one seems to know it’s purpose and it is not in the owners manual. It has to serve a purpose, what is that???

battery drain
My 95 runs through a battery a year. I just replaced it and it ran fine for a few days then it wouldn't start. I heard a ticking sound coming from the passenger side dash. I opened the passenger door and closed it and the ticking stopped. The interior lights and security lights came on but it still would not start. Just plain dead would not even turn the starter. I heard the ticking sound again, I tried to lock the passenger door with the key and it would not lock. It will lock manually. The passenger door seems to be connected to this problem.

1995 C4 Corvette. Overheating engine shut off
So I bought my 16 year old son a cool car, classic 1995 Corvette and its been in the shop more than he has been able to drive it. Mechanic struggling to get the car from overheating. replaced the radiator, water pump, sensors and therm. Took it for test run with him with computer hooked up to test the gauges. Freeway, ran sweet with a temp of 186. Took side streets back to shop and overheated at 265 and engine shut off and fluid leaking out of res. Had to have it towed since the computer shut off the engine. What is causing this crazy situation? Anyone???
