Great car. Get past the broken window regulators and rewiring the blown BOSE system and you're good to go! Handles very well- handling potential becomes more impressive if compared in FWD class. Acceleration with the the 5-speed is effortless. Has a high redline with especially notable top end power. Build quality and material choice is superb for an early 90's Japanese sedan. Car has a very rare engine so parts are harder to come by- but has a great cult following (support group- maxima.org) that makes finding replacement and performance parts easier. Very rewarding vehicle IF you take care of it- requires a picky owner. Well worth it.Oct 20, 2010

B4 nissan started to water down there vehicles this baby had the se engine which had an extra 30hp than the base models 92-94 yes back then Maximas had 2 engine options, 190hp fully independant rear suspension(which didnt return until 2004) a stock rubber spoiler lol Cat-back exhaust, and intake was the only performance mods All I gotta say is 0-200kph in 30secs Top speed I got it to was 222kphDec 06, 2009

This car in 1993 was the top of the line Maxima if you were considering luxsery. It has a 3.0 liter SOHC engine that makes 180 hp. And is almost as quick as the 2000 maxima that I previously talked about. This is my brother-in-law's car, and it has not had the greatest caer in the maitenance dept. and it is an electrical nightmare, but there have been no problems with the engine, and it has over 200,000 miles on it.Jan 23, 2009

For a foreign car I am impressed. This car has great acceleration and might actually out handle my Firebird. The quality of the interior is perfect, although I am not too sure about a few of the button placements on the dash. I am amazed how comfortable the seats are. It is a bit harder on fuel then I expected, but has required little maintenance for the age and milage of the car. I would buy another one in a flash.Aug 15, 2008

My parents bought one used in 1994 or 1995, when my sister got her license. It was her car for a couple years, then I got it because I graduated from college, and she went to college. I drove it from 1997-2001, then I got sent to Korea and my dad drove it from 2001-2004. For its time, it was a nice car. I would call its performance "peppy." It wasn't sports-car caliber, but it was good for 1993 and had more than enough power for any road driving situation. It lacked traction control and ABS, though, so it was fairly easy to spin the tires from a stop - obviously a common front-driver problem - and locking up the brakes could be a problem even on dry pavement. I think the dealer switched out the stock tires for something cheap, because the tires it came with were horrible. My parents changed them out in '95, and in '00 I changed to Michelin MWV4s. Those worked quite well, and I had no issues on wet pavement. The car was reliable until about 2003, when it really began to come apart. I did need to replace the brake rotors in '98, a bit ahead of schedule. Still, 10 years of useful life is not bad. Unfortunately, the Maxima has gone up in size and weight since 1993, so there's really little basis for comparison any more.Feb 04, 2008

I used to have a Nissan Maxima. Lots of fun to drive. 5 speed manual, cloth interior, 3.0 L V-6. Everything was power except the seats. Also the cruise control didn't work, but I never really had much reason to use it. I put some 17" 5 spoke Motegi Racing wheels on it. They were 8.5 in. wide, as opposed to the stock wheel width of 7 in. That really helped with the handling, and they saved weight, too. The paint was in relatively good condition. It had several noticeable nicks and scratches on the engine hood and left front quarter panel. Also, my mom accidentaly backed into it one day, so the left rear quarter panel was all caved in. It was Aztec Red (a tad darker than candy apple red), and really looked pretty good overall. I wrecked it when I slammed into the back of a truck. I was going about 50 mph when I hit him, and it literally tore the front end off of my car. The guy's truck had no damage; his bumper just fell off. Jan 06, 2008
