As I was inspecting my brake lines , I noticed as I would put fluid in ,when pumping the brakes it would completely empty out under the rear passenger seat, so I checked the driver side only to notice I'm missing a whole part under the passenger side, could anyone tell me what is the name of this part (see pic) and can I put it in myself?

How long do the transmissions last? I'm about to buy one for $3000 in California. It has 180k miles. 1993 Lexus GS 300 4door sedan, 4cyl/6cyl switch, good body, clean interior, goodlooking underhood. No accidents, one owner, he has a carfax printout, runs smoothly. Only thing that might be a problem is the shocks - we noticed slightly wavy when we test-drove it. I was hoping to drive (300+miles roundtrip) several times a year for a few years. I have the VIN # too.
