1993 Honda Civic Coupe Reviews, Pricing & Specs

Well I bought my EJ from a ricer. This is my first project car. I'm now consumed by modifying this car. When I first purchased this car it had a full ridiculous body and other common ricer mods like euro taillights. First thing I did was drop in a JDM B16a from H-Motors Online. There are still many things I need to replace in order to remove the tainted ricer look, so don't criticize to bad. I can only purchase upgrades as my wallet allows which is much smaller than I would like. This is a slow process but definitely worth it ever penny. This is a daily driver and eventually going to see the track every now and again. it was my work in progress, pic takin at the court house lolintake, strut tower bar, cherrybomb exhaust, 2 1/4 full pipe exhaust, m3 mirrors, clear turn signals, clear tail lights, windshield banner, painted the interior, short throw shifter, enkei 13" rims flat black, aftermarket tach, alpine radio & speakers. it could do nasty burn outs, back drops make a perfect J, comfortable ride, comfortable interior space and seats, and if you havent noticed yet its not a coupe it was a 4-dr civic LX wit a ZC motor dropped in it!!!Nov 16, 2009

i found and purchased this EJ1 Coupe on 8/8/09 on craigslist for $3550! Its a 1993 Honda Civic EX. It has a B16a JDM engine. The engine runs great. No knocks or ticks. No smoke. No leaks. A complete B16a conversion was purchased from h-motors online with tranny for $3500. The Metallic Blue Paint Job was $3000. This is also my first project car. so its a Honda... not a lot of power, but overall a fun little car that will last forever with some love. rusts easily in the Okanagan, but hey its meant for places like California. i have had my civic for a year and cant complain, with over 240 000k on it, it runs perfectly and does not burn a drop of oil (although from abuse many do.) handling, acceleration, and braking are all pretty decent, but it lacks speed with only a 1.6l engine. but this also means amazing gas mileage. the interior and exterior are simple but nice, not the most luxurious but still comfortable. as far as goes goes it costs about $30.00 every 400-600k (depending on driving.) honda's are a bit expensive, but it is overall worth the money, for my 93 i paid 3400 which was a steal. the car is fun to drive, but i would definitely recommend a standard. This car has pretty good acceleration 0-60 in around 8 seconds sad i know but when you consider its a relitively cheap 1.6 liter car its pretty good. For the most part I haven't noticed to much squeaking or rattling and I would notice that stuff drives me crazy. It gets pretty good gas milage too around 30 miles to the gallon depending how you drive it I've gotten up to 40, but that was a one time thing. I love hondas, they all have strong engines and they can go forever. The acceleration is great, it shifts good too. It has a short ram intake and a full exahust on it as well. It gets good gas milage about 30mpgs. Its a fun little car to drive. Its easy to modify of course becasue its a honda. Theres a big market for street racers too, every one is different too. Fun car to own and drive. pretty quick car for what it is. would rather have a manual, but the automatic is geared pretty well. handles well in fast corners. very low cost of ownership. even when gas was $4.00 a gallon i was still payin less than forty dollars to fill the tank and can get 300+ miles out of about 9 gallons. i really like the way my car looks, especially lowered 2 inches. the interior is nice, except for the patterns on the seats. overall a great car to own. would highly recommend it.
