1993 Chrysler Concorde Preview summaryImage

In 1993, Chrysler replaced the Fifth Avenue full size sedan with this unique new design. The Concorde shared the LH platform with other Dodge and Eagle sedans, but it still embodied a departure from the Previous Chrysler design. The large sedan was marked by its heavily raked windshield and ample interior space-products of the cab-forward layout which Chrysler had borrowed from Lamborghini. The first of two trims was the LX, powered a 3.3 liter V-6. This engine produced 153 horsepower and 177 pound feet of torque. It was mated to a four speed automatic as the sedan's only available transmission. Despite reaching just beyond 200 inches in length, the sleek and trim-looking sedan weighed only 3330 pounds. Light weight, along with a modest power supply and superb aerodynamics, led to a fuel efficiency rating of 20/28 mpg. With the debut of the Concorde, Chrysler sought to compete with luxury imports like the Lexus ES 300. While the full size sedan was available with many of the amenities and safety features of the Japanese luxury competitors, many questions surrounded Chrysler's reputation for reliability. However, the Concorde has received positive consumer feedback in that department. Aside from sparse reports of high mileage nags related to the A/C system and the transmission, Concorde owners have reported few serious issues.
