It was old and had its issues, but it was a good first car that drove. It was slow, the fuel gage didn't work, AC didn't work, sunroof broke and leaked, and sometimes the doors wouldn't open, but the engine and transmission always worked perfectly. It was my first car and it got me around alright. I bought it for $1,000 and after 3 years, traded it in for a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix.Mar 31, 2014

Solid structure in cluding Side impact protection System. Reliable- this car started
every time even when sitting stagnant for three months. Comfortable- trim level
for its age is top notch, heated seats sunroof, heated wing mirrors. Really tight
turning circle at very low speeds. Not so good in the wet or corners!Jun 23, 2010

well i can start with this car saved my life it was a sleeper it was a v-4 but with the turbo i put in pulled like a v-6 handled really well and was amazing on the road i miss it to death <3Oct 18, 2009

car was pretty slow and had too much weight for a 1.8 SOHC but took hits from accidents like a trooper and got ok gas mileage even with the tranny issues at 300K miles and although the car wasnt a chick magnet... it still got the job done reliably.Sep 12, 2009

Very comfortable to drive, accelerates quite well despite being big and heavy. Oh, and it's my moms car btw, I drive it almost more than she does. The best thing about it is the big trunk. The only really bad thing is it's apperance, it's one of the ugliest cars I can think of. It's extremely reliable, and if something breaks, it's easy to find replacement parts and they're fairly cheap compared to other brands.
Most other cars I've driven have had the pedals too close to each other (my feet are pretty big), so when I hit the gas, I often hit the brakes too. But not with the Volvo. Also, the accelerator pedal is a lot easier to "feel" than on a Saab 93 for example. With that car, I can barely feel it, and therefor it's pretty hard to control.
It spends a lot of gas though, which is no suprise, considering it weighs about 1,5 tonnes and has a 2 litre engine. It's also pretty long, so it takes a while to get used to. I used to have a hard time parking the thing.

1992 Volvo 940 Turbo. Leaks oil and needs engine work. How much would it be fair to sell it for or trade it in for? I just do not have the money to put into it, and fix it myself now. Everything else is good on it, looks good, no dents or rust. How much can I reasonably sell it for or trade it in for? Need to do this as soon as possible. Let me know, thanks.

1992 Volvo 940 leaks a lot of oil, runs very shaky, smokes. I can not afford to put a lot of money into it. Need to just sell as is, or trade in on a used car with no major problems. Great car to work on for those that want a classic 1992 940 Turbo, great project car for rebuilding, as everything else works well, and the body is in great condition. If I had the extra money now, upfront, I would rebuild it and keep it. I dont, so I need to sell it or trade it in. How much can I sell it for in this condition? A mechanic that looked at it said I could sell it for $1,000. What do you say? I need to know real soon, so I can get this done.
