Powerful, stylish, roomy, and surprisingly quiet for a car its size, the 1990 Mercedes-Benz 560-Class, which consisted of the 560SEL Sedan and the 560SEC Coupe, sported the automaker's largest engine at the time: the 5.6-liter, 238-hp V8 that was linked to a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Standard features for the car were extensive, and included leather seats, power sunroof, power windows, power door locks, air conditioning, heated front seats, airbags for both the driver and passenger, power heated mirrors, fog lights, anti-theft alarm system, cruise control, headlight cleaners, and much more.

the only main issue i can take with this car is that it ran hotter than hell no matter how much coolant was in it or how cold the temperature was. too much engine, in too little engine bay, with too little cooling = cooked a $23K engine sitting in construction traffic. other than that i couldn't have asked for a better car to storm empty roads with.May 22, 2009

reclining rear seat, every thing about this car is truly remarkable. She
may be 17 years old, but don't let that fool you. This car is very well equipped with hydronumatic self leveling suspension, all 4 seats are
heated, power everything, sunnroof, and a beefy v8.
Driving this car is an absolute joy. The ride is very smooth and controlled. Amazing agile from a car of its size. The interior is very
quite and comfortable. The V8 is quiet and silky smooth until you
drop the pedal. At your command drop the pedal and feel this beast
roar to a rocketing take off. Built for autobahn cursing, 80 to 150 mph
is where this car truly shines. You effortlessly watch the speedo rocket
past 120 without a care in the world. 150 mph is just as relaxing an

fuelproblem??? Mercedes 560 SEL shuts down after starting while idling, sometimes while driving
My 560 SEL sometimes shuts off after starting, or shuts off while driving. If it shuts off while driving, the yellow indicator light to the left of the fuel gauge for the reserve tank use comes on, but the fuel tank is not low (happens when full and not in reserve tank). The car restarts, runs for several seconds and shuts off again. This cycle is repeated several times and then it stays running and you're on your way until it happens again. Makes driving it completely unpredictable and undependable. I replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor....it still happens...Any ideas on what to do next?
