there isn't much i can complain about this car besides the cigarette lighter doesn't work and power seat options on the passenger sideet doesn't work properly, and a couple of interior easy fixable irregularities. other then that it is definatly an extremely reliable car with great gas milage and plenty of power.Jun 03, 2012

I love this model of BMW. The 5 series is just the right size. Big enough to carry a
family on vacation in comfort and small enough to still be fun to drive. Having just
bought the car, I haven't needed to do anything major yet. The build quality of all
the BMW that I have owned has been exceptional! No annoying squeaks or rattles.
Exterior has some rust but can be fixed up. For the year it is in excellent shape.Dec 30, 2011

Good but, not great. Had an awesome time driving on the freeway, sucked fuel worse than a vacuum sucking on your huevo's. Comfy ride and great suspension. Rear wheel not the best option when racing. too much power and can be easily crashed.

It is cool car to drive, I prefer having lower profile tires on it rather than the stock. The Dinan gives it more of a kick. Manuel transmission is pretty responsive, other than then clutch being a little slow...FunApr 30, 2010

good car but when bought it needed repairs. which it is getting. has tight steering and good acceleration. it will be maintained when it is fixed up. this car is absolutely fun to drive. i love to take a drive in my bmw 535.Aug 29, 2009

actualy it is bmw 524 turbo diesel with automatic transmition.
It is complete stock any performance allowed. it's a work horse sex maschine :D As it is rwd it is fun to drive, slide, drift, have some rally. This car good for braking itAug 28, 2009

performance - accelerate good, brakes are hard, handling is excelent.
Build quality- god engine, bad suspensions, many bad solutions under the car
Apperance - okey interior, exterior is great except from a bad paint job

system and i had to replace the transmission and the
interior is faling apart. just dont buy one of these

the ultimate driving machine! the car responds to abuse with enthusiasm. loves to attack the corners and cant wait to go sideways. just a joy to rip around the streets in our eat up the freeway at triple digit speeds.
this car has the best seats i have ever sat in, modern electronics that rival the standards of today's cars. i never wanted to leave the car once i was sitting. if this bimmer wasn't so dated i would buy another in a heart beat.

accelaration is great, once you have your foot on the pedal it immediatly takes, it has great braking, responds quickly, ABS system. the handling is great, it's a bmw what do u expect, [erfection.
the body was great, although it was a year 1994 it endured till 2007 and was sold to someone else, it needed a little repairs after the year 2000, but doesn't all cars new and old need.
it had an amazing frown appearance, gave luxury feel in th einterior and on the exterior.
one bad side, it did alot of gas mileage, needed a gas station tied up to it sometimes, and maintanance parts, they cost alot, weren't cheap to get spare parts for that baby.
the car is fun to drive, it's amzing, i learned how to drive on it. great handeling great response. great car... i would recomend it to a friend, besides it's gas milage, it's a great car to drive and very safe.Nov 24, 2008

It's old. It's fast. It handles like a shopping cart. It's nice on these old german roads, plus if you run it into something, you might die, but if you survive, you could replace the car for around $2000 dollars. Good car for the money but not the best. well, my father bought this car brand new off the lot. its as old as i am, 17 years. i love this car to death, and i wouldnt trade it for anything. its the most fun car ive ever driven. it does need work, but i'm willing to put the time and money into it. the fastest ive ever gotten it is 97mph, but my dad got it up to 130. i wanna beat that someday. It has a sunroof, leather heated seats, and a nice roomy trunk. It's white with tan interor, and it is very clean inside and out. It is a little doggy when taking off, but gets to 65 mph smoothly and quickly. It has a nice solid ride on the highway.Aug 30, 2008

I bought this car at abit of a steal, Performance and build quality@BMW's best, needs a little TLC to get it back to it's former glory.
Fuel consumption is adquate for the engine size and the size of the car, very large luggage space.

The performance is still OK by todays standards, but nothing special. New BMW's with the same kind of performance use half the petrol this uses. The engine is great for daily driving as it's got a lot of low-rpm torque. Quality is excellent and it's not too costly to maintain. However it needs to be looked after, if it hasn't been maintained well it can be a real handful to drive. I owned one for three years and not much went wrong with it, but it does require more care and service than your basic japanese car. But it's a lot more fun to drive than said japanese car and quite safe for it's age too. They are getting a bit old, so finding a good one can be challenging or costly.Jul 29, 2008

Needs lots of work... worth keeping?
Bmw specialist mechanic says it needs thrust arms, bushings, lower control arms, front end brakes including calipers, and it has a coolant leak into the oil. But only 1 cup of water every 2 months. It has used this much water since I bought it 3 years ago and it runs beautifully. Known issue with head gasket on this model. Should I dump it or buy an E46? I love this car, it drives like no other I have owned. Best stopping distance of any production sedan in it's year. 50/50 weight distribution. But to fix all would cost over 3K. The body is near perfect, paint has a deep shine, interior very clean. It's tough when you appreciate the engineering but time's ravages and economic practicalities are arguing from the sidelines.
