1991 Audi Coupe Preview summaryImage

A dash of sportiness with a grand helping of luxury cooked up in the Audi Ingolstadt labs and BAM! you get the 1991 Audi Coupe, an all-wheel drive hatchback that tends to be more upscale traveler than performance-packed racer.

The quattro coupe abounds with luxury inside the cabin, featuring standard leather seats, power sunroof, automatic climate control, and power everything. Heated seats and memory settings are popular options. The body panels are zinc-coated to prevent rust, and indeed the Coupes have held up well over the years. The exterior styling and hatchback with rear spoiler hint at some inner fastback performance desires, and the 1991 Coupe is fairly peppy once it gets beyond a certain speed thresshold. But the 2.3-liter, 20-valve I5 with 5-speed manual tranny is rated at 164-hp and 157 lb-ft of torque, which means initially unresponsive acceleration in this very heavy car. Though this heaviness means better handling and road grip, with limited body roll, a certain amount of sporty feeling is sacrificed.

Owners like the look of their 1991 Coupe and its easy handling. The interior ergonomics and creature comforts are impressive. One problem with the 1991 Coupe that you see across the Audi brand is reliability and expensive visits to the repair shop.

Amzing car to drive espcially for its age, Probaly still one of best cars out there today for its aero dynamics, capable of 160mph as standard. Which for a 4 cylinder 2.0 16v engine is amazing. Can be fairly costly to run, all though i did own it when it was around 13 years old. Now its 1 cheap amazing car, would recommend to any who is after a cheap fast solid car with quality much higher than most brand new cars espceically french and british cars. The audi 80 coupe is a must have at some point in your life. Made to go sideways.. Bothways :-)Jun 03, 2012
