Awesome! Unbelievable! Dynamite! Incredible! While not literally what AUDI stands for (it is either a Latin translation of its founder's name or an acronym for the German conglomerate that manufactures it) it is symbolically what Audi has come to mean in the eyes of very satisfied customers.

For the 1991 Audi 80, the 2.0, 4-cylinder engine in the STD sedan is replaced by the 2.3-liter, 5-cylinder 130-hp engine already in the quattro. Though both trims come with a 5-speed manual, the optional automatic transmission is now a 4-speed instead of a 3-speed. ABS brakes are standard on the quattro, as are the features that previously were sold as a Sports package (sport-style seating and a sports-tuned suspension). Fog lights are standard on all models.

Audi represents upscale attitude, quality performance, and longevity, and the Audi 80 doesn't disappoint owners in this category. Audi's unique zinc-coated exterior has meant the cars rarely show their age and are seldom plagued with rust. Drivers love all that comes standard with the 1991 Audi 80, but more importantly, they love the way this car handles, its dependability on the road, and the comfortable seats. The AWD feature of the quattro makes the Audi 80 fearless and turns this family car into a tank. Complaints point out that the trunk and backseat seem small. Otherwise, it's the standard litany about outrageously expensive Audi parts and finding a good mechanic who knows how to fix an Audi.

The Audi 80 was a great car. It had plenty of power. It didn’t really feel that stuck to the road as I was going around corners it felt kind of like it would tip over even though that was at 60 miles an hour. The car had plenty of technology for a car from 1991 but overall I’d give it a four out of five.Nov 12, 2023
