1990 RX7 proublem
starts and runs fine for about 10 miles check engine light comes on and above idle engine cuts out and backfires stop disconnect battery retook and it starts and runs fine for a while anyone have a idea what is wrong

I love it, great price. It has great power and handling after the swap and its nice to
be able to let the top down. the swap was a bit of a pain since its a JDM engine but
i have a megasquirt on the way and a usdm harness finally. the forums were fairly
helpful for the swap if you are preparing to do one just KNOW your rotaries first!! Jul 13, 2012

Performance- this car has great acceleration and overall engine performance and is a blast to drive, the car brakes and handles amazing given that both areas have been upgraded. The build quality is okay but whoever built it originally did it in a hurry, the interior and exterior of the car are both not the greatest given it is a purpose built car. the cost of ownership is to be determined. This cars fun factor is amazing the car is a blast to drive and the HKS exhaust sounds sick.Jul 29, 2010

This car is a lot of fun when boost hits its amazing, the brakes that were on the car where amazing the new brakes should be better, the section coiliovers that are on it make it handle amazing. Its a rotary it always needs repairs.Jul 27, 2010

It's a pleasing car to the eye. Handles well, responses extremely well to the throttle, no bogging, no hics, nothing negative.
Gas mileage was rather poor for a 1.3L 165 hp engine... 14-16 mpg is what I could only get. You could say it was because I stomped it a lot or my foot was the problem, yet my 85 mustang gets 13-14 with me laying on it hard every now and then. And its a V8 210 HP motor.
Other than that, it was a BLAST to drive, it felt nimble, ready to take anything thrown at it. It performed, handled WELL at screaming speed/rpms. Not to mention the very smooth 7000-9500 RPM roars, compared to my 85 that shakes violently at 5-6k.Apr 06, 2010

Great chassis. Non turbo rotary was a great motor, just not enough power to put
me in my place but enough to have fun. Hopefully the torque and power of the
LS1 swap will be enough to scare me. Best convertible chassis wise ever made for

Mazda Rx7 FC3s 2nd generation
Performance- 1.3 Liter Rotary Engine acceleration is strong and smooth due to the design of the Rotary engine.
Brakes are soild and the car handles really well
Overall is a well balance car
If you want a start and go car the Rx7 is NOT the car for you, go get some Civic Ricer if u wanna do that. This car require you to have patience and love, If you dont got them dont get Rx7 Jul 07, 2009

Im more than in love with my RX7. The pure mechanics behind the RE is so innovative. Its has 50/50 weight ratio which is perfect for the track or touge. and thats what i love about this car. Its built for what i want to do with it. heck yeaSep 03, 2008

Bought this car on a whim. Totally beautiful car -
loved driving it topdown around ATL. Quick enough, I
suppose, but its not really about driving fast, more
about cruising. Rotary engine limited the life of the
car since they don't get past 150K very well. Average
MPG, average quality, but that's not why you buy a

The 2nd generation RX7 is an under rated car now because of its age when compared to the flag ship model the FD3S. Both models share the same design engine only difference is age and development of these two engines/cars.
The series 4 Series 4 (1986–1988) was available with a naturally aspirated 108kw and turbocharged engine 135kw
The series 5 (1989–1992) was released with updated cosmetics, bigger turbine housings, higher compression ratio 9.0:1, better engine management systems and a slightly better interior styling.
note: In japan the turbocharged models were released N/A models were only exported to USA, Australia etc.
The RX7 is well known in the motorsport world for its superior handling and its infamous engine the 13B. Its participated in drag racing events, circuit racing and now drifting.

1990 FC Non-turbo Fuel/Fuel line problems
I am having trouble with my 1990 FC, Non turbo 13B, fuel doesnt seem to be getting to the engine, although the fuel pumps and injectors are working, the only problem i can see is clogged fuel filters, but that doesnt seem like it could be that bad, the whole car has been kept very well, although i am not too knowledgable on these cars yet... luckily i also dont have my license yet so i cant really harm it

I have not yet decided to sell my RX7 convertible with 55,600 miles, but if I do decide to sell, what would be a reasonable price to ask? It has an automatic transmission, and the original top is in excellent condition. The leather seats are also in very good condition. The car is dusty from being kept in my garage
