After a down period in the mid '80's, the Cadillac Seville luxury midsize sedan continued its comeback with an upgraded engine and sleeker styling to kick off the new decade. The 4.5 L V8 engine now boasted 180 hp and came with 4 speed automatic. The new model also used sequential fuel injection for improved power and emissions. The 1990 Seville has two trims: the STS and STD. The STS represented Cadillac's attempt to make the Seville appeal to a younger crowd with a sportier exterior, better handling, and faster acceleration. Gas consumption runs from 16 mpg in the city to 25 mpg on the highway. The Seville seats 5 and has 4 doors. Standard features include air conditioning, power windows, and power door locks. If you want, you can also get a sunroof, leather seats, and ABS brakes. Overall, drivers still enjoy their 1990 Sevilles. Several devoted owners report putting over 200,000 miles on their car with almost no major problems. If you don't need the most advanced features, the 1990 Cadillac Seville still provides plenty of bang for your buck.

what i really like about this car is how fast it goes, the speakers sounds nice and also everything about the car works great, 1 thing i dislike about my car is the engine "V8" bcuz of that i spent much gas.Aug 05, 2011

Port fuel injected V8 picks up like a champ! Car performs great, quick acceleration for a car of its weight, top end speeds are decent. Car has needed several repairs but nothing that couldn't be fixed fairly cheap. Exterior stock is nice, Outside appearance isnt quite what I like. The gas mileage is good on highway but bad in city. needs a lot of work, but I love it!I really miss driving the car. It is broken, and i want to fix it so bad so I can taste it. When it runs, I love the way it sounds with the exhaust cut off too!!!!Jul 30, 2009

Coolant leaks & oil leaks... what a mess to wrench on. Plastic body parts break and jump ship often. Lots of 'rattles' and noises forced me to buy a more thumpin' stereo.Jul 10, 2007

What is wrong with my car
my husband had recently replaced the alternator and belt on our 1990 Cadillac Seville. Now when you start the car it squeals and when you start to drive it. He said it maybe has to do with Catalytic converter cover or something like that. Do you think that it is correct and is it easy to fix?

What could be causing the coolant leak between flywheel and engine block?
These details are regarding a 1989 Cadillac Seville w/4.5L V-8. There are no noticeable signs of leakage from above the flywheel housing as viewed from the engine compartment. From underneath the car, the coolant runs profusely from the rear(closest to firewall)section of motor on the drivers side. I removed the 'bell housing' inspection cover exposing the lower portion of torque converter, hoping to see area near rear main seal. However, components are assembled so closely resulting in almost no visibility which prevents locating the origin of leak. Does the freeze plug directly to rear end of camshaft have exposure to the cooling system? I've searched for a 'schematic' for cooling system but am unable to find technical description. Thanx, Marty
