1989 Cavalier 2.0 CDI 4 door. These cars were luxurious, fast and inconspicuous. Whilst most people my age were struggling to insure XR2's and Uno Turbo's, the "old man model" Cavalier was cheap to insure but with the same 2.0 OHC engine as the sporty models and better gearing for fuel economy. This car could go from 20mph to 100mph in 3rd gear and embarrassed many a boy racer :-) I sold this car to my dad who then kept it for the next 100 years! My mate had a "J" reg which earned the nickname of DB7 as it used to put up a James Bond style smoke screen whenever overtaking people, but despite being given the hardest life possible, it wouldn't break!!!Sep 07, 2008
