1989 Toyota Camry Preview summaryImage

The 1989 Toyota Camry was mostly unchanged from the previous year, when Toyota introduced a new engine option: a 2.5-liter V6 with 153 horsepower and double-overhead cams. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine was still available as well. The only change for the '89 Camry was that the All Trac all wheel drive system became available in with the automatic transmission as well as the manual.

The 1989 Toyota Camry was available as a four-door station wagon or sedan. The 1989 Toyota Camry was available in several trims, which included the base model, the DLX, the DLX V6, the DLX All Trac, the LE, the LE V6 and the LE All Trac. The 1989 Toyota Camry gets between 20 and 30 mpg for fuel economy, depending on the engine.

Drivers of the 1989 Toyota Camry note that with features like hand-cranked windows and no air conditioning, their cars are somewhat bare-bones and not very plush. But drivers also frequently compare their 1989 Camrys to the Energizer Bunny and are still driving them even today.

when i first got it for 200 dollars it was a great car, very rusty and rotten but a good car, it has just about 370,000 km on it and the motor still works perfect and so does the transmission. overall i am happy with that but unfortunately everything around the drivetrain was no good, good reliable car but too rottenNov 22, 2012

It was a reliable car. It took a beating and kept on going. Until my Brother shot one of the rods through it and junked it. It was the first car that I drove and had in my name. I miss it.Sep 27, 2010

It's a car you want if you're really cheap. It doesn't cost that much if you maintain it right. Its engine is performant in winter. It's not too fun to drive because of the clunky transmission. The dents make it ugly, and it's almost rusted thru. Comfy seats, and not so noisy interior. Good on gas (we got 700k on 60l once)Jun 19, 2010
