Good size, good power, excellent fuel economy, sharp-looking, easy to handle, great winter car, comfortable for long trips, quiet interior, many bells and whistles, economical to maintain, fun in the long run to drive! What else can I say about the 1989 Plymouth Acclaim except that it's awesome!Jun 17, 2010

This was my Mom's car and ran quite good up until 105K miles when the head gasket went
and the master cylinder on the rear brakes.
The ride was very nice, it serviced us for many a family vacation. With the right tires it was
awesome in the snow. It had been serviced regularly.Mar 04, 2008

What is this hose called and what is it connected to?
In the attached diagram they call the hose I am looking for the AIR HEATER CONNECTOR, what is the REAL name of this hose and what is it connected to- The INTAKE manifold or the Exhaust? The car will barely idle and is making sucking sound. Where this hose is attached is also rotted out, so I need to know what it is called so I may begin a search to replace. Need hose name and what it is attached to.

stalling problem
While drivng down the road, the car just dies. If you wait awhile, it'll start and run again. Could the fuel pump shut of and start again after it cools?

1989 Plymouth acclaim bad idle, no power, sucking sound. I have gone over the vacuum system andfixed all the leaks, i believe. New egr and map sensor. When it wil start it makes a suking sound from the throttle body. Iac sucking air??
I can get the car to start if i floor it when starting. Very rough idle and makes air sucking sound around throttle body. Cleaned vacuum lines, replaced map sensor, replaced egr. Had bad code for map sensor, so replaced. What else can it be?
