I loved this car, not only because it was my first but because it was the perfect blend of sporty and practical. It was also super reliable and would probablt still be running today if I hadn't rear ended someone in it! Gas mileage was really good and the only major problems I ever recall were in the front axle. I had to have the upper arm joints rebuilt and and still continued to have some problems with uneven tire wear. Despite that rather costly issue (esp. for a young driver) I still miss this car - pop up head lights, moon roof, and all!May 29, 2010

One of the least expensive coupes to have pop-
up headlights. The double wishbone suspension
made this a great handling car, and the Honda
4cyl. engine got better than average performance
and gas milage. Very reliable, with excellent fit

The car came with plenty of electronics that were easy to use and never broke. The car had stunning lines and very comfortable interior. It wasn't the best MPG car i ever had, but it was ok for the category...Sep 09, 2009

It was a good car, quality built, good acceleration, good performance for the year of the car, cheap to run and maintain, lots of parts in the junk yard and it was a blast to drive. Didn't need any repairs. Jun 16, 2009

Still performs admirably at 19yrs old. Its no rocket, but don't let the measly 98hp fool you. It only weighs 2600 (subtract x for rust) and cranks out 110lb-ft @ 3500rpm, so on the highway you've got pretty decent acceleration from 120-140 while staying in 5th.
Ride comfort is good, handles quite well minus the body roll.May 12, 2008

Good car for the price. Though it's underpowered and the gas milage isin't amazing in comparison to the horsepower. The Ford Taurus of the same year would be a better bet. Mar 14, 2008

I'd recommend it if you need something cheap to drive short distances. My car was old and had a few mechanical problems, but the interior and exterior were both taken care of really well. And it was a manual so I had fun teaching myself how to drive it.Jan 27, 2008

My 1989 honda accord just stopped running while driving. Could it be the coil?
My car has 92k and has had all new fuel pump,sparks every filter possible it sat for ten years so when I bought it a year n a half ago we have replaced everything but the timing belt and coil. Can I check the coil any way before getting one? The car runs great,I was going 20 miles an hour and it just stopped. No sounds just came to a stop.
