we have a 1988 trans am . window regulator is faulty .
Does this 3rd gen coup have window regulator motors with 9 or 12 tooth gear ? can these gears be swapped 12 -9 and vice versa ?

My recommendation is to buy them while you can still find them. Great value for the money and they turn heads. Also, there are many aftermarket parts for cheap so maintenance is managable. Only issue is cheap plastic inside car.Mar 28, 2012

The car is fun to drive the performance is outstanding. The interior is completely redone. The car is actually completely restored from the front to back. The car is kind of a gas guzzler but its mainly used for pleasure. The car needs very little as far as maintenance, just change the oil and check the fluids everyday.Feb 22, 2012

This is an amazing vehicle. It RAN smoothly, but recently the timing chain went. Its in mint condition, needs paint job. Fast and loud. Handles great around corners. Best, most fun car I've ever had, hope to fix it soon.Mar 01, 2011

It has a 350 in it. It needs a new wing. It has great handling performance and runs great. I have alpine speakers, subs, and head unit in the car. thats about all i know. Tires are expensive. Plus it does ok on fuel.May 29, 2010

Fun. Loud! Slow. 170hp is not a lot for a V8. The 255lb foot of torque is enough to make you feel like you are moving fast. The five speed in it makes it feel a lot faster though. She is very fun to drive all in all. Once she gets some paint on her she will be pretty too!Aug 12, 2008

Good car for a drag platform to build off but stock motor is dogged out with few usable parts, i had to replace the 305 with a 350 along with going to carb, new heads cam and intake manifold, rotating assembly coming soonJun 27, 2008

Its a great summer car, and i have also managed to drive it in snow storms haha wouldnt recomend it but i have. Its a fast car that looks great too. Sounds like a muscle car should with a nice V8 under the hood.Mar 04, 2008

Car wont start after sitting 10 minutes
I have issue as we'll, car starts first time take to smog shop won't start or turn over after sitting 10 minutes. wait 20 minutes and it starts. 88 fire bird, 5.7 motor, port injection, possi rear end. number 6 of 256 made. Could this be security issue? This car was given to me as brother in law wrecked my 68 charger.

88 Firebird headlight doors
My right side headlight will not pop up. I've removed the whole assembly and plugged it into the left side wiring. It work plugged into the left side wiring. I've taken the wiring loom apart enough to plug the right side wiring harness into the left side assembly and it won't operate. Both wires on right and left have power with the lights off. Both wires on right and left have no power with the lights on. I haven't determined what has power when the light switch is turned on and off. There is obviously a problem with the right side circuit. Is there a relay or controller to check? If there is, where is it located?
