The 1985 suburban was the best car i ever drove it has power and strength I never had a huge problem in the entire 350,000 miles they have better sound systems than most new cars and had supreme luxury and amazing handling great everything sometimes i regret giving it up for a new car.Dec 05, 2008

This thing was bulletproof. Drove it all through high school and want to take it off my pop's hands when I move back to Alaska. 3 major accidents in it and barely a scratch on it. Great car for your kids (for protection) and just for going off road or fishing in a remote location.Mar 20, 2008

I loved this truck. It had a stock 350 under the hood, 3 extra leaf springs in the rear, and sat on 33 inch Hurcules tires with custon rims. The paint was in rough shape and the body had alot of cancer but it still was solid and the frame was in great shape. All in all, the burb was great.Mar 15, 2008

I love the old Chevy Suburbans. I just picked one up for $1500. I would have easily paid $4000 if the guy asked for it. The seats are comfortable, The motor is easy to work on, and its just a good looking truck all around. I would buy myself a fleet of these if I could.Dec 05, 2007

Normally a very nice ride....gas mileage is not the greatest...has a 41 gallon tank, so you know what it's like to fill the tank....Changed the original engine with a rebuilt 350 and changed all the parts underneath from front to back...rebuilt now has 25,000 miles on it...Jun 25, 2007

Price Check
Found a sweet looking 1985 'burban on CL. I haven't seen the vehicle yet, but the seller states that it is in pristine working condition and from the photos it seems like it's in pretty nice shape. He said it only has 70K, so I'm assumed a rebuilt engine. Barring a good inspection from a mechanic, is the $2400 asking price a good deal for this car if it clears?

Runs rough and stalls at light
1985 Chevy Suburbin...starts to run rough and stall while sitting at a light...just changed the carb from a quad jet to a Holly with a electric choke..has a mechanical fuel pump...the other carb (quad) was giving me problems, that's why I chnged it...this is a 350 small block...the engine has 25,000 miles on a rebuilt engine which was running fine...the reason for the carb change is no choke on the quad and could not get a manual choke to work wright. I had this problem with the other carb.

Still a slight rough idle
I changed the carb...the holley was leaking gas at the secondary...also had a stuck float....not bad for a new carb. The new holley works better and doesn't leak....just did a complete tune-up and oil change....this is a rebuilt engine (350 small block) with 25,000 miles on it....I'm wondering if their is something internal that may cause this problem.....HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
