New battery and alternator still no power. Help
Bought it off a kid who redid the wiring himself and dropped a V8 350 engine inside. Don't know if it's the wire job or the starter. Any suggestions

orginaly 6zylinder this baby got a real us-car v8!
350ci v8, autmatic 3speed transmission

It's an El Camino, that alone describes why I like this car.
Performance? it has a 267 4.4L v8, there is no performance. A whopping 120HP stock, I would guess 150 with the slightly upgraded cam, 4 barrel intake and Q-jet carb.Nov 04, 2009

The acceleration is a bit slow, with just a 305 V8. The handling is average for a muscle car, could be better.
The body is in need of some repairs, dents and some rust. The doors squeek when opening them, and are hard to close.
The interior is in need of a lot of repair. The bench seat is tearing, and the roof lining was torn out so it didn't hang down on top of the riders heads.
The gas mileage is nothing to hoot and holler about, but not horrible either, roughly 18 mpg.
The El Camino is really fun to drive, low to the ground, and floats like a Caddy with the soft suspension. Very easy to drive....quite the leisure driver, and calming.Oct 14, 2009

all custom rebult new engine, new manifold, new carb, new brakes front and back, new interior, but still keeping it original she perrs like a tiger needs a new tail gate but it still works gitting new trim and all new gadges in the dash.Sep 16, 2009

I got this car in June and I love it with all my heart. the v-6 is AWESOME at the pump, about 22 mpg, and doesn't cost too much on repairs and such. SUPER fun to drive and though I've heard complaints with people from the V-8, their expectations are way to high for such a nice looking car. If you paid for a performance mod, which aren't as expensive if you know how to find them, you should have no problems with the car. mine is all stock and proper, and i love it.Sep 15, 2008

Overall this is a decent car, i have no problem what-so-ever. I mean obviously there are a few dilemas with this particular one, such as: this V8 power is weak, needs paint, and a little interior work. For the most part the El Camino name is awesome. There's always someone asking about mine, wanting to buy, trade, etc. Also, most of my friends love the car as well, so thats a bonus. Jun 19, 2008
