Incorrect name and body style. Any Pontiac 1985 and older is a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am and 1986 and Newer till 2005 became Pontiac Grand Am same company different body style and name. I know this because I had owned one of each a 1980 Firebird Trans Am and a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am GT CoupleMay 14, 2024

Firebird 1980, 400 4 BBL. TH-400 , 165.331 miles , super clean from Texas , awesome shape , fun to drive big time ,leahter seats , cool look , powerful more than 430hp , great mpg , cost nothing for now lol... let see later !! its a Pontiac what esle to say !!!! Jul 10, 2010

305 cubic inch engine. Runs nicely, but has an exhaust leak. Handles like a pig and consumes fuel like one too. Virtually no rust. Has the possibility of being converted to a Trans Am. Not many people can say that they got a Firebird as their first car.Mar 21, 2010

Love this car! My dad and I spent a few years restoring it. It runs like a champ and turns heads everywhere I go. Ill NEVER sell this car. Love driving this thing! Wouldn't sell it for the world! anybody looking for a fun car to turn wrenches on and learn about cars, this is an outstanding vehicle with which to do it!Dec 15, 2009

This car is so much fun to drive. The small-block
231ci engine sounds like the Autopia cars at
Disneyland (when they were good). I bought it off
an
incense-maker so it came sparkly red with velvet
interior! One of the last of the classic body styles,
her frame is sturdy, making her last a long time.

THE Best vehicle I've ever driven. Accelerates hard and
fast, Brakes fairly well. Handles better than anything
I've ever driven. I love the flow of the body lines. By far
the best looking car I've ever seen. I've had to repair
the motor mounts and replace the carburetor, but
what can you expect from a 30 year old car? MPG is
awesome since it's a v6, but also is pretty powerful for
its age. This car handles amazingly. It's a blast to slam
into and put it sideways.

Well before the engine got trashed it was a 12 sec 1/4 mile car. Old skool car so the braking was aight. I had shaved door handles so all i had to do was press a button to open them. Car was solid. No rust, farelly new gloss black paint job with a flat black shaker scoop attached to the motor. It had the big block 400ci motor with a 700cfm carb and a lynx air filter, 2-10 inch subs with a 1200 watt amp and pioneer 6x9's..... Rims wer 15 inch american racing with 265/70r15 in the rear and 225/50r15 up front. Damn i wish i still had it. But wat can u do new cars com around and the other had to go for a 1980 camaro

bought it when i was 13 started to redo it when i was 14.finshed it and brought it out end of junior year when 17 had it on the road 2 months when the drunk lady came down the road on the wrong side wiped to the right side of the road and totaled it at 3 am in front of my parents house.all my hard work gone in seconds and alot of money.May 22, 2008

I’m having problems with my 1980 Firebird
I’m having problems with my 1980 Firebird, once started and i shift the car into drive, the tires will not spin at all, then when i put it in reverse it comes back with the same results(a month or 2 ago it would reverse but no drive) i have no idea what the problem could be and have searched and searched and cannot find a youtube video that describes the same symptoms that my car is showing. it is also good to know i have a auto trans and the car sat in a field for 15-20+ years. anyone have any advise as to what should be done?

Pontiac 400 6x heads, .600 lift cam, roller rockers, edelbrock air gap intake, port and polish. Estimated hp right now 350hp 375- 450 tq. My goal is 450-500 hp and. 500-650 tq. I have seen decent priced forged crank, flat top and connecting rod kits. I was curious what kind of gain one of those kits would gain me with my current set up, and than my other question is how can I achieve my hp/tq goal stay naturally aspirated. I intend to run 110 octane and convert to a Holley avenger fuel injection set up.
