Starting problem when warm
The car starts when cold but not if warm. (Ford Escort Mkll with Kent engine) 1.3. What steps can I take and what should i replace. Replaced battery and plugs, plug wires.

first car ive ever bought. bought it in 2003 and stil have it.use it as daily driver and
as a show car. wont be changing anything on it soon.never replaced brake shoes
or tyres on it. thiscar is not for sale and never will be Oct 05, 2012

Wasn't to great on performance at all, standard 1.6 cosworth motor.
Solid car built in the good old days where cars were made up entirly of steel.
Looked awsome 17 inch TSW mags, new paint job, interior: new steering wheel, JVC frontloader etc.
Real vacation car, one of the funnest cars I have driven.

Great all-round car that can wipe off a smile from your face as soon as you put one on. Poor build quality guaranteed rust formations. Running gear left a lot to be desired but the spartan interior made you feel you were in a speed racer.Nov 05, 2009

dis car has a turbocharged c230 mercedes engine,its currently being built,and soon wil b runing,i stil hav 2 paint it,my dad still has 2 buy a turbo which wil b a t3/t4,hopefully d car wil make around 300klw

Specification: 1980 Ford Mk 2 Escort 1.6 Ghia automatic, 4 door in gold with black vinyl roof. It has 7x13 Superlights with 175/50 Yokohama tyres and a 2" drop all round, 5 speed reconditioned manual box, single piece propshaft, 3.9 diff, standard Ghia interior with cd player. Engine:- 1660 x-flow with liners, Hepolite pistons, ported and polished head with unleaded seats, Kent 244 cam, lightened and balanced bottom end. Aug 08, 2009

it was great when I got it but a lack of care, money and other priorities saw it go down hill. The back door wouldnt open because I reversed into a bollard trying to get away from my mates who were putting a hose in it, the LHF seat brackets fell through the floor due to rust from an accident caused when i fell asleep at the wheel.Jan 24, 2009

old skool rallying pedigree, 70's styling, rear wheel drive, no power steering, no antilock brakes, no left wing mirror, no standard rear seat belts, needed leaded fuel, mine would slow down/stop in the wet, i loved it! sadly missed, i will own another in my lifetime, mark my words!Jul 26, 2008

Performance - One of the best of its time - exceptional rally car (not that I rally with it)
Build Quality - It has been mechanically perfect since I fixed it, and the body has been repaired a few times :) My fault though...
Appearance - Beautiful, sports car of its time. Has a custom paint job, and a semi-completed rebuild of the interior
Cost of Ownership - Maintenence is not much, if anything at all - fuel economy, not too bad. Not too sure on figures though...
Fun Factor - Yes this car is fun to drive! In fact, even that is an understatement!Jul 26, 2008

capable enough fuel injected 1.6 engine, good solid performer, not as much fun as the xr2, but quick enough, good load space ,comfortable enough for 4 adults, not too hot on looks though, this did improve on later versionsApr 29, 2008
