After a record-setting 1979, the 1980 Chevrolet Camaro would succumb to an oncoming recession and continuing fuel crisis. Only 152,005 Camaros were sold, with a larger percentage (over a third at 51,104) opting for the more fuel-efficient V6.
The base engine was a 229-ci V6 rated at 115 horsepower, while the California version was a 231-ci rated at 110 horsepower. The Z28 brought its buyers the power they sought: a 350-ci V8 rated at 190 horsepower. It was also given a new look, with an intimidating grill sporting the Z28 emblem.

November 10, 2013What I like about this car, it is old and it has potential to be a very nice peice of automotive art. What I do not like about it is the old technology some of the 80's ugly and the fact that it is going to cost me alot of cash to put it the way I want it. I want to mix it up, old and new.... a 383 stroker, Hotchkis Suspension 4 wheel disk breaks, rack and pinion steering, 17 inch wheels, lower it 2 inches, older interior, newer gauge cluster, Black, Pweter, Red with red interior. Leather/ Sued interior, full dual exhaust, pollished tips and a hidden modern sound system. Power windows, door locks, trunk, mirrors, air conditioning, fuel injected and quick.
July 3, 2010Performance- It had a bit done, so it was quick enough for me. Build Quality- Well I know enough to keep an old car running, just have to put in the work. Appearance- You either love it or hate it. Cost of Ownership- It's an old car with a V8 and 4.10s, it's going to drain you pretty quick. Fun Factor- Hmm, 4-speed, 4.10s, hopped up 350, sounds like my idea of a fun car!

July 10, 2009Car was built from ground up and has 402 big block chev for power. Alll 500 horses of it and runs 11's in the quarter at 115 mph. Fun to drive but cops do like me as it looks like a race car.
April 3, 2009I love my Z28, Handles well for a car of it's time, The swapped engine has PLENTY of power. Love the look and feel. Breaks well, Fantastic acceleration. Isn't great on gas, but if you aren't flooring it, it isn't actually that bad. Most fun I've ever had in a car.

December 19, 2007edlebrock 350 Big block,350(btb) peak hp at 4000 Rotations per minute. 4 speed auto tranny, No A/C, Gas guzzler (3.85 Miles per gallon), Custom Long tube headers, 12" Woofer, two 6"9" speakers, two tweeters, New interior (not original), HiD 8000k, T top, power windows, and steering.
October 7, 2009barely needs repairs, paint is original, this car is amazing to drive to beat those imports to the ground. It can do 0-60 in 4.1 seconds, braking system is front discs and rear drums and it handles nice with my new tires on her.
August 8, 2009Cool old classic muscle car. Fun to drive with heaps of power. Don't handle as well as modern cars but what do ya expect from a 29 year old muscle car. Built big and solid you just can't go wrong.
June 24, 2009Great: handling, acceleration, style, verry fun to drive! Good: breaks, interior, overall quality. Poor: Gas mileage, heal to toe ration on gas peddle.
