1980 Chevrolet Blazer Preview summaryImage

Chevrolet ushered in the 80s with few cosmetic changes. The 1980 Blazer had a new grille with square openings rater than the egg-crate-shaped openings of the 70s. A Silverado package was available with lights and cloth more typical of the pickup truck.

The base engine remained a 250-ci I6 rated at 130 horsepower at 3800 rpm. Four V8's were available as options: a 305-ci rated at 130@4000 horsepower@rpm, a 350-ci rated at 165@3600, a 350-ci rated at 170@3800, and a 400-ci rated at 185@3600.

Production numbers went down in 1980, with only 31,776 Chevy Blazers produced.

strong 350 v8, 6" lift, custom interior, custom paint, my first total restoration- i sit on top of the world when i'm the drivers seat! bought it for $500- have put about $2,000 into it (not counting what i've recieved as freebies)- the previous owner flipped it in when he was mudding in this mud pit in the ocean- i bought it in stock condition and modified it to the beast it now is! She's a little beat up, time hasn't been very nice to her. She's holding up strong though and with a little more time and money, she'll be the envy of the mud pit.Mar 03, 2008
