How do I know if engine overheats

Hi. I have a 1978 Pontiac Sunbird 2.5L 4 Cyl engine that came originally with no temperature gauge in the dashboard. How do I tell if the engine overheats?

I have a 1978 Pontiac Sunbird Formula package. Does anyone know where I can find interior parts? Plastic, door panels, arm rests?

Is there to estimate how many vehicles of a certain model and year are still on the road today?

I asked this question before and was not impressed with the joking answer I got. Are there any real gurus on here who can give a real answer?
