1978 chevy 350 won't run
My truck will crank and start when gas dumped down the carburetor. After that it stalls. It will idle as long as I keep dumping gas in the carb. Anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong with it?

shes good c20 3/4 ton 350 small block chevy th400 3 speed trans 2 wheel drive and it does some nice off roading with all terrane tires on the back, really fun to drive, fast turning but is a truck so wont turn on a dime though good acceleration will do brake stands and burnouts rough ride cuz it is a work truck and made for rough roads, winter time its fun but not something to mess around with you will lose control of itApr 10, 2010

Probably the best thing about this truck is the fact that has a granny gear 4 speed. It makes it great for towing and just that much more fun to drive. The engine is stock other than the edelbrock 750cfm carb i put on it but it still has the power to spin the tires for about 80 feet in the dry.Dec 17, 2009

Awesome Truck that can hit the mud like crazy. rebuilt chevy 350 with racing heads, roller rockers, edelbrock carb, and bored out pistons. low geared standard transmission. 35 inch mudder tires and a custom bench seat inside. fleetside turned stepside. and of course 2007 chevy corvette orange!Sep 16, 2009

well i have pretty much fully rebuilt the truck myself. it has a jasper 350 motor in it with a turbo 350 trans. All of the body work has been completed and it is waiting for a new paint job. Just a few minor details and mechanical projects left and the truck will be complete.Aug 31, 2009

it's 350 V8 engine gives it exceptional acceleration for a truck and its custom headers and dual exhaust with Cherry Bomb mufflers sound great. Unfortunatly its only three gears make its comfortable cruising speed about 60 MPH at three thousand RPM. It also is one year two early for the locking torque converter which combined with its older, big V8 engine makes its MPG only about 10, and thats only if you can your foot clean out of it.
This truck drives very nice and is very fun to listen too going down the road and its offroad capabilities are good, but its stock leaf suspension make for a rough ride.
its paint job is still reasonablely nice except for the hood which my dad replaced because somone stood on it to reach higher. Custom bumper to hold winch. Custom Chrome bed racks and headach bar. Looking for new chrome rims to replace the stock ones that are still on it.
its great for parties and drive in movies or firework shows.
but will be better when i put a toolbox full of speakers in the back right in front of a couch, and add my new stereo system. Aug 25, 2008

Can i reattach the clucth fan mount on my waterpump?
After i replaced my waterpump the seal on one side didnt hold, and when it blew it popped the mounting pully off that i attache my clutch fan to. Can i fix this or do i need a new pump?

Carburetor swap
Can I take a carburetor from my 1993 Chevy Silverado and install it in my 1978 Chevy Scottsdale the 78 has a Rochester model a quadrajet carburetor or that's what i think The carb needs to be rebuilt but I still need wheels and wanted to know of something like that could be done

78 c20 2main bolts and 4 main bolts engine bolt pattern disfferences for a 5.7l350
ok,well i dont know if its a 2main or 4 main. But do those 2 types of engines have identical bolt patterns like the intake manifold exaust manifold coolant pump fuel pump and acceries(alt power sterring fan dude everything from old engine lol) distributor? And remember ls the world!
