1976 Chevrolet Blazer Preview summaryImage

The 1976 Blazer featured a complete redesign, which resulted in a safer ride. A new roll-bar was fully integrated into a steel half-cab. A removable fiberglass and plastic roof was available as an option, and could be attached to the pickup bed.

The base engine remained a 250-ci I6 rated at 100 horsepower at 3600 rpm. Available engines included the reincarnated 305-ci V8 rated at 130 horsepower, a 350-ci V8 rated at 160 horsepower, and a 400-ci V8 rated at 175 horsepower.

Almost 75,000 Blazers were produced in 1976, their biggest production year to that point.

The picture ain't of mine but thats what she looked like. She had a small block 400 V8, four barrel carb, full time four wheel drive and ac. She got 8 miles to the gallon, yeah that bad. She was solid and fun to drive. She rode really rough, but was unstoppable. She was ugly and rusty and I loved her.Jul 22, 2008
