1972 was not the best of years for Chevrolet and its pony car. The 1972 Chevrolet Camaro suffered a few setbacks as the result of a 174-day strike at a plant in Ohio where the Camaros were built. In addition, approximately 1100 Camaros had to be junked when they did not achieve the 1972 Federal Bumper Standards. The entire model was almost scrapped along with the 1100 useless cars.
However, Camaro did make a big comeback by the end of the year, rolling 68,656 Camaros out of its plant. Of these cars, 6,562 were SS's, and represented the last of their kind. There would be no more Camaro SS's produced by Chevy.

Performance is great! acceleration couldnt be better but handling could be better but its because i have rally wheels and tires.
Build quality is good a lil surface rust but shes a work in progress
Apperance is just badass nuff said.

1972 Camaro Rally Sport, A true Rally Sport car, originally in what could be described as "cream yellow".
Originally this car was equipped with a 350sbc, t-10 4spd. combination.
Modified 350sbc, making approx. 350-400hp
"three-in-the-tree" style TH350 auto.-transmission with a mild shift-kit installed.
Posi-traction rear-end.
12in. wide rear radials on '69 Chevelle Rally wheels.
Drum brakes in the rear, disc brakes up front, stopping power is increased by a 12 inch hydraulic brake booster.
Painted in 1970 Camaro lime-green.
This car is a blast to drive. The shift kit causes the transmission to kick in rather suddenly. There is a moment after stomping on the gas where it seems like nothing is happening, but then everything hooks up, the transmission drops into gear, and you fly.
It holds 18 gallons, giving me moderate range. It can make a 4-6+ hour drive on one tank of gas.
From the A-pillars forward is all new paint, from the A-pillars back is mostly the last paint job.
Entire underside was painted in anti-rust black protective coating.
This car has been in one accident, requiring new right-front quarter panel and new front valences. Still has original chrome bumpers with small dent front the accident.Sep 08, 2010

It was a true RS and Z28 with factory AC. Something the apraiser said was not possible. He told me the car was most likely built for someone, or a close friend of someone, that was high up at GM. It was candy brandywine, with ghost rally stripes. The front end had a bigger sway bar and poly bushings which made it handle GREAT!Apr 02, 2008

Urm, it was quick of the line, loud, uncomfortable and turned heads every where.Dec 12, 2007
I want to put the front nose and rear tail light section of a 1972 rs camaro on a 1974 camaro. The 72 has a rusted out top and the 75 is in great shape. It looks like I can but I'm not sure.
