1972 AMC Javelin Reviews, Pricing & Specs

I have owned four Javelins, two of which had Pierre Cardin interiors. In general I like the way the cars handle, though they are better with sway bars. The drivetrain in general for AMC is good and strong, and never had too much problem with the transmissions. The motors are decent in power, but run very hot, especially the 401. I have seen several problem with overheating. The biggest problem with the Interior is the fading on the Cardin material, but overall all positions are very comfortable, with good legroom.May 17, 2012

well I had a friend who had a 73 amc javelin in high school and is was very quick and i always wanted one at the time I had a 69 mustang and his javelin was always faster then my mustang. this car had a 304 when i got it i pulled out the 304 and swaped it with a 401 im going all pro touring with this carits not done yet but very soon it will be. I have had all the interior redone and its ready to go in the car . the car was media blasted bottom engine bay body trunk everything and thenthe body work started there was one bad spot of rust that was it and a few dents i dollied everything out. welded in a new panel. i have done almost everything on this car myself except the engine work i had my machine shop do that curt is really good. so im in the process of paint right now and soon i will be putting it back together i still have to find some parts yet they get very $ but in the end it will be all good almost everything on this car will be new except the interior panels since they dont make them anymore.
