This was offically the first car I learned to drive on in 1993. In High School, it was by far the largest car on the lot and quite memorable among classmates. Performance-wise, this is a very fast car though it isn't designed for speed. It's a great cruiser, and everything on it is original so once it is restored (mainly exterior work) this will be an original car for most car shows. When I drove the car to and from work on the highway, I found that travelling around 55 mph got the best gas mileage, which was around 25-27 mpg (the gas mileage was like a big bell-curve like most all gasoline powered cars). The car has been with the family since it was brand new in 1971, and the cars only down side is the over-power steering (not power assist) and the braking isn't quick - but who expect that for a luggary car of it's day? This car, when you learn to drive it right is very fun to drive and when you know how to focus your driving style, it can be easily managed in city driving or in small-town driving. The car doesn't do well on ice for it's rear traction is one sided (drivers side) and you have to be careful on dirt roads.
I would recommend this car to anyone that would take the time to learn how to drive it, and learn how to take care of it. Nov 22, 2008

Bigger than either of my first two apartments, The Moose (for it was big
and brown) made me popular at Wichita State because so few of my
classmates owned cars. Jun 14, 2008

As far as driveability and good looks go, this car is nearly unbeatable. Without a doubt one of the most attractive cars in history. Better on gas than most people think, and lots of space for anything. It came with a CB radio and an 8-track player.Jun 02, 2008
