Actually it was a 1965 Rover 2000 in faded grey and rust, but they didn't offer that as a choice. Twenty more words, well it was better than the Triumph Stag that the previous owner replaced it with - that came out of the factory with rust as standard.Jul 22, 2010

This is actually a '67 Rover P6 2000. Car of the year in '63 designed by David Bache. It has leather upholstery & just smells of Englishness. The doors go "clunk" when you shut them. Old skool "strip" speedo. 3 speed auto box still changes sweet.Apr 02, 2010

Rover took the unprecedented step of going to America and buying a small V8 from Buick. THey then ripped it appart, sorted the faults (piston liners carbs etc.) and stuffed it into there mild mannered Bankers car the P6, creating the P6BV8 (the B standing for Buick)
This was used by many Police forces up and down the country as well as business executives. The model was sio successful it was exported to Australia, America, South Africa, as well as Europe.
The cars came initially in automatic, but later were fitted with a manual gearbox as well. THere were trim options from cloth to leather. Mar 26, 2008
