What could cause three clutches to fail in driving period of 500 miles?
I have an Austin Healey 3000 kit car. The car has not been driven at excess speed, and primarily on local highways.

Always wanted one. In the 1960's they were the ultimate British sports car. Jaguars were too much of a status symbol, and the other British sports cars were a little light weight. They had the speed record for a while, and it still seems to me to go like a bat out of ..... I also like that they don't make them any more, so they didn't ever go off the rails like Porsches. I used to have one of those, but got rid of it because it became such a status symbol.Nov 30, 2012

Got it from my uncle, with a torn ragtop, scratched, unoriginal paint, and only running on 5 cylinders. I got the engine and transmission professionally fixed, but still coughed and was a very unreliable car. Terrible resale, too. Great Britain isn't always great.Aug 12, 2012

My Austin Healey Mk.III is a 2+2 with a 6-cylinder engine and
manual transmission. In fair condition, needs fixing constantly.
No seat-belts. Soft-top convertible. Red, after market radio.
Over all, I love it. It is pretty rare, with only 42000 mde.Jan 09, 2010

-Runs well and very strong
-Observers do a double take when informed that it is original,
unrestored with original paint.
-Overall great condition with just the right patina
-There are a few dings, but they are like proud battle scars still
sporting the original paint
-What you see is what you get. It has been well maintained but
noboody has messed with it nor has it ever been taken apart.
-Only modifications are:

67 BJ8 that suddenly quits running after fill-up. Replaced most electrical and boiled gas tank. After a few hours, starts again. Any suggestions?
