Off the line, the 1964 Jeep Wagoneer came with a 232 cubic inch, 6 cylinder engine chugging away under the hood. This rugged 4WD early SUV came with an automatic or a manual transmission, neither of which I'm sure provided excellent gas mileage. But the Jeep Wagoneer is made for going over, around or through things, not for fuel efficiency.
