CarGurus Appoints Sarah Welch as Senior Vice President, Consumer Marketing

Former TripAdvisor and Gazelle Veteran Will Lead Global Brand Marketing for Car Shopping Website

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., March 2, 2016 -- CarGurus (, a leading automotive shopping and research website, today announced that Sarah Welch has joined the executive team as Senior Vice President of Consumer Marketing. Welch, who most recently served as CMO at Gazelle, will lead the company's global consumer marketing initiatives, including brand development and experience, customer acquisition and retention, public relations and consumer product marketing.

Visitor traffic to CarGurus has grown by 40% in the past year; the site now attracts more than 19 million unique monthly visitors. Sixty-percent of those users access the site via mobile device, making the site the #1 mobile car shopping platform in the U.S. (comScore). CarGurus launched sites in Canada and the United Kingdom in 2015, with further global expansion scheduled for 2016.

Prior to Gazelle, she spent six years at TripAdvisor as VP of Marketing and VP of the TripAdvisor Media Group, where she helped the company grow from a small dotcom into the world's most visited travel site.
