Overview
Who says you can’t have your cake and eat it too? The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the height of motoring comfort, and one would think ultra-luxury and high-speed performance are mutually exclusive. Not so, in the Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG. With a twin-turbocharged V8 and adaptive air suspension, the S 63 finds a way to make a nearly 5,000-pound car corner like a smaller one. It’s not quite WRX-level agile, but it’s still impressive for a car its size. Stepping into the cabin, you are treated to a world-class interior. It boasts plush leather seating and a host of technologies that were advanced for their time.
Key Features
- Twin-turbocharged V8 engine
- Adaptive air suspension
- Two 12.3-inch LCD screens
- COMAND infotainment system
- 12-way power-adjustable, heated front seats
- Burmester premium sound system
Pricing Details
The final year of the AMG S 63 (2021) saw the vehicle arriving at dealerships with an MSRP of $173,100. Used examples on CarGurus range from $12,704.00 to $68,075.60 with an average price of $19,633.33. The Burmester sound system is terrific, but there is an even higher-feature Burmester High End 3D premium stereo system. Other options that can be found on the S63 include massaging seats, in cabin air-perfumer (seriously), heated and cooled cupholders, and heated armrests on the center console and in the doors.
