What's not to like? I had a base model, but saw this Type-S on the lot and had to have it. I have never done such a crazy thing but it was a one-time deal and I had to have it! This car is amazing. I clocked it from 50-70 in 2.5 seconds with my family inside! The car looks mean, and the power goes well with it.

There really isn't anything I don't like about this car, its sporty, stylish, and has 4 doors. The engine is easy to mod and it is very reliable. In my opinion, the 2008 Acura TL Type S is one of my favorite 4-door cars of all time.

Pros: tight handling Honda Quality Price compared to other vehicles in its class is right on point Cons: Price Small Gas tank (Premium only) Nitrogen inject tires, sounds cool but a pain to find a filler station Can't install after-market audio

The performance of the car was what was expected from a japan made car. Build was great and so on with appearance. Cost of ownership was very compatible with anyone who works. Fun factor is that you look good in the car. Other than that I could say it left me wanting more.

Overview

Acura introduced the TL Type-S in 2002 as a higher-performance variant of the popular sedan. It got a 3.2-liter VTEC V6 engine that delivered 260 horsepower – a 35-pony bump over the standard car. Acura fitted sporty 17-inch wheels, firmer suspension and sport seats. The Type-S continued on into the car’s next generation, and continued on with a manual transmission option. Cars that got the manual gearbox also got a limited-slip differential and Brembo four-piston front brakes.

Key Features

  • Available six-speed manual transmission
  • Powerful V6
  • Sport suspension, brakes, and seats
  • Based on the Honda Accord
  • Sedan-only body style
