What’s New for the 2024 Toyota RAV4

Toyota now offers a new Army Green color for the more rugged-leaning Adventure and TRD Off-Road trims. Outside of that, the RAV4 is largely a carryover.

Design

Trims for the 2024 RAV4 are LE, XLE, Premium, Limited, Adventure, and TRD Off-Road. The LE comes with 17-inch steel wheels, while the XLE adds 17-inch alloy wheels and the XLE Premium comes with 19-inch wheels. The TRD Off-Road features unique 18-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires and off-road skid plates.

Powertrain

No matter which trim you select, the 2024 Toyota RAV4 comes equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. It makes 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through an eight-speed automatic transmission to the front wheels or available all-wheel drive (AWD).

The most efficient version of the RAV4 is the LE trim with front-wheel drive (FWD). It returns fuel economy of 27 mpg city, 35 highway, and 30 combined. The least-efficient configuration is the TRD Off-Road, which returns fuel economy of 25 mpg city, 32 highway, and 28 combined.

Interior

Standard features on the RAV4 LE trim include remote automatic climate control, remote keyless entry, cloth upholstery, and manual front seats. The XLE adds push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and remote keyless entry. The XLE Premium adds synthetic leather upholstery. The Adventure also features synthetic leather upholstery, but with orange accent stitching.

The RAV4 provides 37.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. With the rear seats folded, the RAV4 provides up to 69.8 cubic feet of cargo space. A power lift gate is optional on the XLE and standard on Premium and up. The range-topping Limited comes with a hands-free power lift gate. The TRD Off-Road has helpful rubberized floors, and the Limited has heated and ventilated front seats, as well as a power-adjustable front passenger seat.

Technology

The 2024 RAV4 comes standard with an intuitive 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also comes with a Wi-Fi hotspot, three USB ports, and a voice assistant that can respond to prompts like “Hey, Toyota.” A larger 10.5-inch touchscreen is standard on the TRD Off-Road and Limited trims and is available on the XLE Premium and Adventure trims.

Safety

Standard driver-assistance technology on the RAV4 includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, and traffic-sign recognition. The XLE trim adds front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The TRD Off-Road adds a 360-degree camera system.

Pricing

At the time of this writing, the 2024 Toyota RAV4 has a base MSRP of $28,475 for the LE trim. The XLE starts at $29,985, and the XLE Premium starts at $32,875. The Limited trim starts at $36,780, and the Adventure starts at $34,670. The range-topping RAV4 TRD Off-Road starts at $38,095.
